Using Mic in Singleplayer Campaign
-
Hi, Im kind of a newbie in FalconBMS and I saw someone in a YouTube video using his mic to communicate with AWCS in a campaign. I tried pressing UHF COMMS Switch Up and talk but it doesn’t work. Neither of AWACS or ATC answer to me when i try to talk with UHF COMMS Switch Up. I also tried to talk with my wingman with VHF COMMS Switch Up, but it still doesn’t work. Do I miss something or you just can’t talk to ATC or AWACS with UHF COMMS Switch Up?
I have the 4.37.0 version. -
Look into the tools here: https://forum.falcon-bms.com/category/28/voice-control

There are a number of options available for voice control in BMS. First (free) option is FoxVox by Foxter, after that there are various voice control profiles freely available for the VoiceAttack program. VoiceAttack is a fully featured voice command program which costs about $10 (USD) that works with most anything, allowing users to create “profiles” which can be shared with other users who would import those profiles into VoiceAttack. These profiles can be as simple as “say this phrase, it presses these keys” to fully fledged mini-programs in and of themselves which accomplish complex tasks, keep track of user or game info, and allow for hundreds of thousands of command variations to catch most any way you can say it for very relaxed or ambiguous voice command input.
VoiceAttack also allows for plugins which are even more in-depth and capable of advanced functionality - JanJan has a plugin for BMS which allows for complete control (not just over the UHF/VHF radios) for example. Off topic, I developed a plugin for VoiceAttack that allows us to access OpenAI and ChatGPT, with my AVCS CHAT profile providing voice conversations with ChatGPT where we speak our questions and it responds with text-to-speech.
So many options available, just check out the voice-control forums section linked above by jayb. Best wishes and good luck!
edit: please note that the “VAC” program is deprecated, and no longer supported or developed, though some folks may be able to get it to work still and a post is still pinned in that forum section - however, being as old as it is, would not be as capable as modern offerings.

Hi, Drako. Be sure your UHF and VHF frequencies are set right. In BMS you can make a command, the comm menu will scroll on the screen, but nothing will happen if the freqs are wrong. So, be sure to remember to load your DTC, and to doublecheck the freqs pre-launch.
Also, just to be clear on wordage, you mentioned “VHF Comms Switch Up” .VHF is Comms switch down. -
@SemlerPDX Wow…you just about sold me on VoiceAttack there!
