AI TGP X-ray vision

This is a weird one. Was leading an Offensive Counter-Air strike against a highway airstrip. I was lead in a flight of four, armed with laser guided Mavericks. At the target area, there were low clouds all the way down to the deck. I ended up flying down on the deck to get a clear view (and still couldn’t get a visual on the target until I was practically on top of it), yet the other three members of the flight, all AI pilots, were launching at max range while still at altitude.
They must have had special TGPs and AGM-65s.

@SLangner I knew what you’re experience with, cause I’ve been experience this with all TGP / Visual related aim at overcast weather. Tips for this, circle the area, you’ll find a hole then. I don’t like fly below 10k Ft MSL, cause I hate shot by SA-13 from behind. As always, AI sometimes gives clue about SAM launched, but the way the engine read the text for warning is too slow, thus the word SAM launch heard, the next second SA-13 missile already catch my butt . Anyway, back to the topic, overcast weather still have a cloud hole, if you circling / flying arc. Try from farther range, and with one mindset, find a hole, not “where is my target”.
