@Geraki this has been an issue since ~4.36 or so. mostly people have the opposite problem – users with older laptops wanting to run BMS down-scaled, for better performance.
the situation is this …
-
in Borderless Window mode, BMS will always resize the 3d window to match the Windows desktop resolution (and refresh-rate) of the selected display… the settings on Setup/Graphics page for resolution and refresh-rate, are not used
-
in Fullscreen Exclusive mode, BMS will takeover the display buffer from Windows and give you the resolution and refresh-rate you ask for
Some notes…
-
you can hit [alt+Enter] in flight to toggle between the two modes… this used to be very buggy but seems pretty solid in 4.37 gen… at least, for my Nvidia system… not sure if AMD is better or worse.
-
FSE mode does reduce input-latency by ~1 frametime, and also consumes less power (ymmv)
-
you may have to adjust the scaling/centering setting on your monitor, and/or your GPU output, to get the desired experience
-
also “smoothing” settings may help avoid artifacts from the upscaling/downscaling

@Geraki sun and shadows are totally different here … fov is similar but can’t tell if same… head position not exactly the same
can you turn off head-tracking and compare apples to apples? (use one of the training missions that starts, in-air … same time of day and weather etc)

@airtex2019 hi
i make another screenshots set in order to be more clear
The problem with broken text occured in 4.37 during loading the 3d world in backend and inside 3d world , in BMS menu or start point selection menu before loading the text seems to be ok as you can see from screenshots below, inside 3d world the text even in reshade menu looks broken. it is not a reshade related i think since this occured also in reshade menu inside 3d world4.37 menu page
Selection page ramp-taxi-runway

hi
is FXAA turned on in the graphics card settings?
try turning FXAA off and see.
The problem exist when i was trying to put better resolution than 1680x1050 which is the recommended and selected resolution of my display screen
If i select in game to put better resolution e.g 1920x1200 the BMS after loading rescale the image.
If i select my screen display to have 1920x1200 resolution as default and in game select the same resolution 1920x1200 too the BMS does not rescale and the graphics are amazing with clear text too1920x1200 in game and in default screen resolution
.How can i have lower resolution as default in my display screen and higher resolution in 3d game?
Shall i edit the BMS.cfg ? with something? In BMS 4.36 U3 was not occured that change , i had lower resolution in my monitor screen but higher resolution selected in game without text or graphics loss.

Tex, I would think that the above is very important and informative information that would help a user tremendously in making his/her decision of what graphical mode to select. Yet this is the first time I’ve ever seen these details. They are completely absent from the Training Manual -> Configuration section.

@SoBad we probably need a whole separate pdf doc on graphics settings, agreed. I did start drafting one, a while back.
Don’t take what I wrote above as the documented, intended behavior btw. There’s an argument to be made, that it’s a bug. I’m just trying to share known workarounds.
