Solved What did I miss? (Radar not detecting anything)

@Volteos That target appears about 2-3 miles in from of you. Your scope is at 40 miles. He’s either under your radar cone, or he’s way too close to be picked up in that search range. 1. Go Dogfight Override and smoke him… or 2. Decrease your ranges

@Volteos
You are on 40miles range scale, so a target with that distance would apear on the very bottom of the screen. Besides of that if you maneuvering, then the radar scan pattern can miss a so close target, so for close engagements we have other radar modes than the normal search mode. If you are new to modern fighter sims then a good place to start is the Manuals folder or here
In the “weapons and avionics” PDF you can find a proper description about how radar works and how to use it.Edit:
Oh, I see you got an answer meanwhile, I was too slow with my phone -
@Quasi_Stellar @hiuuz That definitely explains the FCR (the radar cone is set really tight by default) thanks! The RWR still isn’t picking up anything. The right crosshair has this little blinking line on it, like a prompt waiting for an input, so I’m assuming there’s something I need to press/switch/turn/etc. (I could be wrong)
Edit: Nevermind, I misunderstood the RWR (incoming detection). Thanks again!

@Volteos If the other aircraft radar is facing away from you then your RWR is not going to pick up the radar from the other aircraft. Lots of learning for you in the future.

@AviationPlus Ah, that would explain incoming missile ID (and the name). I always try out basic functions as a new user, so when addressing bugs or ignorance, I’m always glad it’s the latter. Thanks!
