Dogfight Override (SCOR and TNG)
-
Hi,
I’m currently looking a little deeper into Dogfight Override mode. Once selected with D, I note that the right MFD displays SCOR at OSB20, which is selectable ON or OFF. I understand that SCOR (Score) enables the BATR (Bullets At Target Range) symbology, which basically shows you your fall of shot of the last round passing the target.
Turning SCOR OFF also Clears TNG completely from OSB9 on the MFD, so presumably its connected. TNG is also selectable ON and OFF. (Though I have yet to find out what it does.) I cannot find any mention of TNG in the manual so far.
If anyone could illuminate or point me in the right direction in regards to TNG, I would be most grateful.

Looked into the -34. Found this:
TRAINING MODE (n/a)

Hi,
Thanks for the response and yes, TRAINING makes perfect sense in regards to the TNG Mode.
Much obliged.
Kind Regards

Hi,
As an aside, I was pondering why TRAINING had never occurred to me. I then hit on the answer. TRAINING in UK Mil and Civ aviation is abbreviated as TRG and not TNG. Looking further, I also discovered that some countries abbreviate TARGET as TRG and not the UK abbreviation, which is TGT.
Can I assume that TNG for TRAINING and perhaps TRG for TARGET are the standard US Mil abbreviations?
A bit dry and boring I know, but appeals to the OCD part of my brain.

Dram.Seems reasonable.
I think part of the reason for the US choices of abbreviation is related to other abbreviations.
A good list is here: https://usafpatches.com/reference-shelf/abbreviations-and-acronyms/#t
