Warthog hat switch does not work as tilt up and down in game.
-
As my Cougar TQS does not work anymore, I am setting my Warthog TQS as replacement.
I see Warthog TQS hat switch works as tilt up and down in BMS Launcher keymapping.
But the setting does not work in game.
I tested keymapping with auto key file. TQS hat switch keys are not assigned with any function.
I tried to assign the hat switch as radar tilt in advanced control menu, It is not detected in the menu.
I wonder how I can configure TQS hat switch as radar tilt up and down in game as Falcon BMS Launcher key mapping, -
@bstar07 you assigned throttle axis (axes) to the Warthog?
-
@airtex2019
They are assigned by Falcon BMS launcher automatically. I did not assigned Warthog axes manually by advanced control menu in Setup. I did not touch anything for Warthog joystic and TQS.
Every axes and buttons work ok except TQS hat switch which supposes to act as tilt up and down.
Is this normal? -
@bstar07 the launcher only supports 2 hats… 1 on the stick and 1 on the throttle device
so you’ll need to tell the launcher your throttle device
In general you have to do everything via the launcher - or nothing (check the “no override” box and remove any “setup override” lines leftover in your cfg file)
But with F-15 and potentially more jets to come, the new launcher is really the only way.

@bstar07 I assume you are talking about the hat switch that is used by your index finger and not your thumb. There are a couple of lines you need to add to the auto keyfile or config file, I can’t remember which, to get it to be programable. I will post the info later today when I’m at my BMS computer.
There is an old thread that has this info but I do not have the time to search for it right now. -
@bstar07 I had some time to dig and if you add these lines to your config file you should be able to program that hat switch:
set g_nNumOfPOVs 2
set g_nPOV1DeviceID 2
set g_nPOV1ID 0
set g_nPOV2DeviceID 3
set g_nPOV2ID 0] -

@Carbide
Thanks for response. No luck so far. I would try this on weekend again. -

Hi! Thanks for your attention to my issue.
I fixed my issue. I did not realize Launcher assigned my joystick axis to trim. -
Hi! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me in this matter.
I fixed my issue. Launcher incorrect axis assignment was root cause of my issue.
I thought Launcher detects my devices automatically and assign them correct.
I expected too much I think.
I got some knowledge from your link, it did not fix my issue though.
