Saitek X-52 Profile
-
Hey Echelon1…
There really isn’t much programmed using the profile - just the mouse for radar cursor control, and the mouse wheel for radar range. I don’t know what the keystrokes for these functions are but it should be a snap to find them and program a profile. All the other functions are programmed within BMS. Just remember to disable the clutch! FWIW, I don’t even use the mouse wheel anymore.
Cheers!

I have a newb question that I hope someone can help me with.
Is there a bind for steerpoint cycling?
-
Just to add, does everyone’s FOV zoom on TGP work alright with this profile? I can adjust the gain on my FCR but chaning SOI and attempting to zoom in on TGP does nothing.
-
Hey…
To answer your first question - no, there is no bind. As far as TGP zoom is concerned, IIRC I had to setup the dial in the advanced controller setup.
Hope this helps…
Cheers!

Great profile, thanks.

Hi all - quick question with this profile, which I am using. The mini-mouse on the throttle won’t move the radar cursor - when I move it, it moves the mouse cursor in the 3D cockpit. Is there something I’m doing wrong, or a setting i have missed?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Don’t forget to load the profile provided - it assigns the microstick the cursor keys. And also remember to disable the clutch functions.
Hope this helps…
Cheers!

Thanks Shiznit - that was the issue (not having the profile loaded) that was stopping the mini-stick from working, but I have a bigger problem.
When the provided profile is activated, most of the JS buttons don’t work in-sim. I have the BMS X52 key file loaded, but I can’t go to any master mode (AA or AG) using either the mouse cursor in the cockpit, or the LCD panel controls from the kesmonkey BMS X52 key file. In the set-up screen depressing the keys calls up the appropriate action/keypress (ie the right LCD panel control brings up A-G master mode), but in-sim, most things aren’t working. The scroll wheel is changing radar range, but my mouse won’t cycle the ICP buttons.
I’m bewildered. I checked that the X52 flight controller is “preferred controller for older games” (I’m using Win 7 64 bit) and I reinstalled the X52 driver. My profiler is the latest version.
I’m sure it’s operator error (though I have followed the installation instructions) - any help appreciated.

PS - clutch function also disabled in saitek control panel

Hey smith…
This doesn’t sound like operator error to me, though I’m no expert. It does seem strange that using a mouse to click on Master Mode buttons on the ICP does nothing…can you change Comm freqs? Does the mouse work for any other buttons/switches (UFC or otherwise)?
One thing I have found is that it doesn’t seem to be enough for the X-52 to be the “preferred controller.” It must be device 0. Any other game controller set to device 0 will take over as the default controller in BMS.
Hold on…I just reread your post…are you using the scroll wheel on your mouse to try to cycle Master Modes? I don’t think that’s possible…but, again, I’m no expert.
Cheers!

Hi Mike - thanks for your reply - nope, not using the mouse wheel for master modes. I mean using the mouse in-cockpit to click A-G button on ICP. Alterante way in the kesmonkey profile is to click the MFD button on the X-52 throttle base. Neither works. With the X-52 profile active, the scroll wheel (on the throttle. not the mouse) correctly adjusts radar range.
It seems that when the X-52 profile is activated, the actions assigned by the profile work (basically the throttle scroll wheel and the mini-mouse stick controlling the radar cursor), but the rest of the keyfile doesn’t. It’s a head-scratcher.
I think I can get by without those functions. I should be able to move the radar cursor with the F8, F9, F10, F11 keys and i should be able to find the keypresses for radar range and use those.
I checked via DXDiag - my Saitek stick is Controller ID 0 and the rudder pedals are ID 1.
Not sure if this matters, but my G500 mouse is also controller 0 (as well as “Programmable hotkeys” ) - would that represent a conflict?

Hey smith…
Let me try to get this all straight…when the profile ISN’T loaded into the stick the mouse is able to work the ICP and all other buttons/switches in the cockpit, and the buttons on the stick work properly. But, when it IS loaded the mouse stops working altogether, in addition to the Master Mode buttons on the throttle no longer working (despite the buttons working in the setup area).
Is this anywhere close to right?
Cheers!

That’s exactly right Mike. It’s as though activating the stick profile turns off all other key files.
-
Sounding very much like a conflict somewhere - could be with your mouse.

Hello KesMonkey,
No doubt this profile is awesome. Although file extension is same for X52 and X52 Pro but Pro owners cannot use your profile . All x52 Pro owners will appreciate if you can upload same profile for X52 Pro (as Hard~deck did his profile for both) or publish print out of your profile from Saitek Profile Editor. Printout will help us quickly make x52 pro profile copying your buttons/macros.
Thanks a lot!
Keep up the good work!

I agree with GriffinArrowUFC. I have a x52 pro and would like to use this profile. -
Hi, my radar cursor isn’t working at all. I have loaded the Stick Profile, and everything else works (including the mouse wheel on the throttle).
I also checked if BMS recognizes the buttons / axis in the Controller Setup screen and it does but once I get into the cockpit it doesn’t.
What does happen is that, when I move the mouse stick it freezes my Track IR even though I have disabled all Hot keys except F12 for centering it.
EDIT problem solved. Track IR didn’t save the changes I made. -
Just a quick questin how do you control the radar antenna elevation, hud brightness and field of view?
In the profile screenshot they are hight lighted in green on the throttle?Want to try this profile out but cant get the green options to work?
