Morphine's Profile

I went through the same exercise 2 months ago. My biggest concern was not being able to try out the X65 stick before I bought it as I was not familiar with force sensing and the terrible customer support of Saitek. After much discussion in the forums, I decided to go with the WH and I love it. After you understand Morphine’s profile and a basic understanding of the WH’s scripting, it really does the job in BMS and I have not regretted my decision. Both the WH and X65 suffer from some poor quality decisions made by the manufacture and not great customer support, but I believe the WH is still the better choice.

Thanks for the profile!

Love the profile, Morphine, many thanks.
Just one thing though, I seem to be getting some ‘interference’ is the best word I think when moving the throttle pinky switch (lights) from aft to centre and back my view will pause (Im using TrackIR 5) and then kick back to looking straight at the HUD. No big problem as its obviously not an action taken often in a flight but just wondered what causing it?
Also, I have a G15 and wondered how I would get the DED to display, I tried the software you suggested but it wouldnt work.
Thanks again.

If I understand your post correctly, it sounds like the keystrokes being sent by the switch movement are the same keystrokes you use to Pause and Center your TrackIR. The script sends an “L” character when moving from Aft to Center and SHIFT+ALT+L when going from he Center to Aft. What keystrokes do you use to Pause and Center your TrackIR?
I’m not sure why AIC wouldn’t work for you. Make sure you have the Logitech software working correctly and the AIC software configured. There are other threads around here that will be able to give you additional help.

Hi Thanks for the profile Morphine, looks good
Was having an issue but got that sorted, it was the making sure the warthog is device 1 within windows, had to uninstall touchpilotone, but ah well i hardly use it anyway. lol.

I just bought it and will recieve it shortly. But no picking targets on radar-button on the throttle or joystick? Isn’t that tms-up / down buttons?

Thank you for the great profile! I recently purchased a Warthog and this really helped get me going with the new HOTAS. I do have a couple of noob questions, though.
Does this profile alter the HUD font and MFD color, or did I make a mistake? Is there a way to set preferences for HUD font and MFD color?
Thanks again!

dont think anything should change HUD font… HUD color you can adjust by editing the callsign.ini file, or by using the WDP to change it for you.

Hello All,
A newbie question: trying to install the morphine profile , but my combined controller keeps on being set to position (1) in BMS (and my rudder in (0) )…which messes up the key assignment. How can I get the combine controller to (0) ? I tried joy id application recommended by morphine but it doesnt work .
Thanks for your guidance.
Fulcrum
Problem solved by swapping the USB port of the rudder. Finally made it controller (1) vs TW controller (0)

I experience a lot CTD after using your profile. Anyone else experiencing this?
This happends just before I am entering the sim / 3d world.
Never had a CTD in a long time.
I have installed the latest drivers for the Hotas Warthog, and updated the joystick and throttle’s firmware.
I also use the Target script editor for running the TMC file. -
Morphine, excellent profile.
I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now and it really is great. However, I would like to swap the functions between the NWS button and the Paddle. I have small hands and I find that using the paddle as a modifier/shift button much easier, especially if I have to reach another button on the joystick. So;
NWS button is currently “Expand FOV and Shift” and I would like it to be “Center TIR and A/P Disc”, and
The Paddle is currently “Center TIR and A/P Disc” and I would like it to be “Expand FOV and Shift”.I know zip about re-programing the .key or the .tmc files so if you could be so kind as to write out/show the changes required, I can then make them in mine. I’m presuming it’s not as simple as finding the buttons in question and just cut and pasting from one line to the other.

Change the following line in the Profile:
SetShiftButton(&Joystick, S3);
to:
SetShiftButton(&Joystick, S4);and;
MapKey(&Joystick, S4, TEMPO(PULSE+F12, DX4, 750));
to:
MapKey(&Joystick, S3, TEMPO(PULSE+F12, DX3, 750));You will need to also change the SHIFT button designation in the Warthog_DX.key file.
Look for the following lines near the bottom:
Pinky/S3 (Win DX3 = BMS DX2)
SimHotasPinkyShift 2 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
Paddle/S4 (…and so on…)
SimAPOverride 3 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
And change to:
Pinky/S3 (Win DX3 = BMS DX2)
SimAPOverride 2 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
Paddle/S4 (…and so on)
SimHotasPinkyShift 3 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
Similarily, change the following lines:
Pinky/S3 (Win DX3 = BMS DX2+256 = BMS DX258 )
SimHotasPinkyShift 258 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
Paddle/S4 (…and so on…)
SimDoNothing 259 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
To:
Pinky/S3 (Win DX3 = BMS DX2+256 = BMS DX258 )
SimDoNothing 258 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
Paddle/S4 (…and so on…)
SimHotasPinkyShift 259 -1 -2 0 0x0 0

I also use the Target script editor for running the TMC file. Are you saying BMS is crashing or the TARGET software? If BMS, then your problem most likely lies there.
You could unplug the Warthog and load the BMS keyfile to see if it still crashes.
-
It’s really weird. It crashes (Falcon BMS) when I run tactical engagement and doing the “flying” mission, but not in the taxi / take-off mission. When I play the campaign it is also okay.
But before I used the warthog and before I installed TARGET it didn’t crash in that mission. Can be a coincidence though. But I found another small issue: The autopilot button: The right auto-pilot “button”; the up position on my Warthog will switch it to the down position in the sim (it’s opposite)
-
Yeah I haven’t a clue what could be causing your crashing.
The switch is programmed to reflect the text on the throttle and not the in game position. So it’s the opposite of the game as you’ve noticed.
-
Wow! Thanks very much Morphine for the quick response. My tiny fingers thank you…

The switch is programmed to reflect the text on the throttle and not the in game position. So it’s the opposite of the game as you’ve noticed.
I tested it more thoroughly. When I had the target profile running it crashed every time before entering the 3d word (in tactical engagement –> basic flight).
I then stopped the target profile, unplugged my joystick and hotas, entered the game and started the mission again. Now it didnt crash. Then I plugged in the warthog, started target, entered the game and set up the controls again.
Now it worked. Weird.
One thing I notice too is that when I run the target and I go to devices in control panel I see that there are these warning (!) signs on both the joystick and warthog icons. Those warnings dissappear when I stop running the target profile.
There might be some issues here. cause when the target profile is run they are called “thrustmaster combined” in the controller settings. So maybe something is not 100 % right here? -

There might be some issues here. cause when the target profile is run they are called “thrustmaster combined” in the controller settings. So maybe something is not 100 % right here? That is exactly what is supposed to happen. The short explanation is that TARGET “virtually” combines the 2 devices into one so they can be programmed by “virtually” unplugging them (hence the exclamation points) and creating the cleverly named “Thrustmaster Combined” device.
I think the crashes might be related to your configuration being tied to whatever your previous device was. Perhaps by restarting as you did, you’ve cleared the problem. Next step would be to uninstall and then perform a clean install of BMS.

Hi Morphine,
I have resisted getting contact for a while now as I did not want to appear to be overly lazy in reading and seeing what other people are doing with your profile. However as I am not making sufficient progress, it is time to make the call.
I cannot seem to get your profile to run as I would expect. For example, my Trottle does not respond when using your profile, but the game indicates that the rudder is working fine when using the de-coupled right trottle control, while no response from the left control. I have tried the usual utilities such as the Target Script Editor device analyzer and they all seem to think that the device is working ok. I always start the BMS via the script editor and I have made sure that the “BMS 4.32 - Mud.key” is in the \user\config folder. Also that this key file is loaded in the game I am sure there is something that I have missed, but not sure what.
By “trial and error”, I have had the trottle responding on “Z-Axis Thrustmaster combined (0)”. So far, all other keys seem to be working as expected, just not the trottle. Can you think of what I might have missed so far?
Cheers,
