Serious bug (apparently)
-
i have the 1,2,3,4,5,6 updates
-
I tried beta 320.49 and it stutters like hell no matter what settings I use…vsync on and off…Korea and ITO. Roll back to 306.97 and smooth as silk on any settings. ITO as well.
-
2xHD6970 here just tried the campaign today… 45-55 fps no stutter at all! All settings maxed out in game. Check out your hardware!

I get better fps than you all maxed out and I have a faster rig. Its nVidia drivers. 306.97 fixes everything. After that bad stutters. Its only in certain places like over Osan low in the weeds. Most of the time its ok. Not hardware. Drivers.
Edit:
Fixed it. Registry threw an error about terradata when I tried to uninstall. Cleaned up and reinstalled. Smooth as silk with 70-80 fps over busy Kunsan on 320.49 drivers.Weird how 306.97 was not affected by corrupt files.

Well i assume you got newer card than mine! I was that close of throwing out those and buying an 7990 but still is TOO expensive. I’m ok i guess though everything over 25-26 FPS the human eye cannot tell the difference anyway. I had those in Osan as well before the corssfire with a single 6970 not anymore though. And when i saying all settings maxed i really mean it Multisampling quality in 7. i dont know why though even if i have vertical refresh to off still it seems as it still works in game… anyone knows anything?

I just tried disabling “focus shadows” in the configurator (in HW > Shaders > Shader rendering > Shadow mapping) and my stuttering seems to be gone.
I also have v-sync on in drivers (off in BMS) and Max rendering = 2
I’m not sure what “focus shadows” actually means, but they’re probably not going to be missed!
-
i have disabled all the shader rendering
-
And you still have stutter?
-
yeah i have it
-
Its definitely focus shadows. It is the shadow your aircraft makes on the ground and on itself or other aircraft etc… Not a game breaker but it looks weird in exterior without them.

Hey Icarus, did you do a registry sweep after the uninstall to turn up the registry error? Wonder if I can do one without uninstalling.

No, I removed manually everything Benchmark Sims in regedit.
However, as it turned out the real cause of the stutters was the drivers after all. Turning everything off in nVidia CP and all on in BMS stopped all stutters in 320.49 for many victims.

Ah. Thanks for the quick reply.
I’ve done that as well (everything set in game) and aside from some initial stutters at the start of the flight it runs pretty smooth. I think “these” stutters are just the mass of objects spawning into the campaign as it runs, similar to some missions in DCS. Once they are all in play it’s not bad at all.
Now if I could just get Lightning’s MFD-E to work reliably I would be happy.

My israeli theater causes a crash-to-desktop when i select tactical engagement in the menu.
No priority there for me as i am still learning the basics which i can do in Korea. -

Good one, but i have to admit i installed BMS for the very first time and immediately installed Israel after it.
I took the BMS download with all the updates.I fail to understand your comment. I thought TE was the editor and dogfight is a mode in the aircraft itself (button on the throttle)
How do those things work together? I probably miss something here, im still a noob on BMS. -
Hi,
I have a problem with ITO 0.99,it doesn’t appear in my theater selection screen….I downloaded it from one of the mirrors,(Whew! it took hours).I uninstalled my working ITO 0.97 before installing ITO 0.99,tried it several times,no luck…
I’ve got BMS 4.32 patched up to 7
Any ideas appreciated…

Open this file in a text editor: Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Terrdata\theaterdefinition\theater.lst
And add to it the following line:Add-On Israel/theaterdefinition/Israel.tdf
Also notice if there a similar line ending with “it-bms.tdf” - if there is it means the removal of 0.97 wasn’t complete - delete it. Did you use the uninstaller exe to remove 0.97? A few others reported the same problem - I’m looking into this. Anyway after you add the line you should be good.

Itai my friend,
I can confirm that the uninstaller of v0.97 didn’t remove the previous line from the file …\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Terrdata\theaterdefinition\theater.lst.
I did that manually.
So inform for this at your post. Thank you.
Nikos.
