Ultrawide Screens and fullscreen window mode
-
Hello, I am new to falcon and trying to learn how to fly the jet. There is a lot of documents that falcon BMS comes with and tabbing in and out of the sim to read the PDFs and fly the jet and create missions has been quite a challenge. There does not seem to be a way to have a full screen border less window mode for ultra wide screens. I have a Dell ultra wide curved screen with 3440x1440 res and wondering if there is a manner to get both the in game UI {one used for TE editor} and the sim itself in full screen border less window mode on ultra wide 3440x1440 ? Can someone assist ?

Yes and no. Yes you can get the game borderless windowed mode by enabling the -window switch or by turning on the BMS display extraction and only having the main window enabled and having un checked the border option. Then you set the game resolution to the same as your desktop and then it behaves exactly in that manner.
No you cannot get the UI in a higher resolution. You can center the UI in the resolution selected in BMS and that is about it.

Thanks I saw and tried this but my windows are still not sizing to 3440x1440. The TE Builder window is very small and max window size in the sim is also not fitting into screen size. I played around a bit and finally got it working to a degree. I now have TE Builder and Sim in fullscreen borderless window at 3440x1440 size on my ultrawide monitor. Thanks

I have a Samsung 3440x1440 and I run -window with no borders
Ui is still set at 800x600 in the left top corner of the screen, but once I go to 3D it’s full screen borderlessAs said above the Ui can’t be made full screen (yet) unless you agree to expand the low res UI to your screen size, which is very ugly and I wouldn’t advise that.
To have full screen borderless for 3D? you must go into the display extraction from the launcher menu, select the main screen, set no borders and set the coordinates where you want the low res UI to display (usually 0.0). of course the graphic setup options in the UI must also be set to your 3440x1400 resolution

Hey Red Dog IIRC there’s an option on the falcon.cfg file to have the UI centered in your screen. Cheers!

g_bCenterUI
If enabled (1) the 2D UI in window mode ( 1024x768 ) will be centred horizontally and vertically on the desktop (for triple screen users for instance). Available options: 0/1. Default = 0.
I’m pretty sure Red Dog knows about it though, as he wrote most of the manual that it’s documented in.

I just can’t adapt to that position. i prefer top left corner and having any other application displayed on the right part of my screen
