FO - Battle For Balkans Theater
-
Awesome guys.
Thanks for all your hard work and this beautifull theatre. -
Yes It has a winnable SP Campaign, with a working trigger file. The campaign in this version is completely different from the one in the Beta.
Great! Looking forward to this one.

I just took her up for a spin") and I have to say… it is awesome!
I’ve used and heard a lot of sound mods thru the year’s and I have to say this one is top notch!
And it looks beautiful.
Thank You thank you thank you. -
I will seed this Battle for Balkans 1.12 torrent for awhile.

Yes it is a False Positive……Script kiddies using UPX, that’s all.
-
Thanks for this. Looking forward to giving this a fly!

Script kiddies using UPX, that’s all.
Install “experts”, that´s all.
It workes(d) flawless for everyone who installed it and is flying right now.
Why certain messages or errors occured on the few cases, i don´t know to be honest, but im sure Aphex will look into it.Meanwhile, those individual might also check if it isn´t anything on their end ??

Works when installing in Windows 2008 Server VM. Doesn’t work under Wine.
Kind of ironic that BMS proper works under Wine, but not some little installer.
As for UPX, don’t use it, unless you have something to hide.

There you go. I dont think Aphex considered one exceptional specialist running BMS on W2008S over VM while making the installer.
You know, that you can direclty contact him to help him and yourself right? - as you both are somewhat part of the same team.… expeptions confirm the principles …

His NSA tools will empty your bank-account …LOL …kidding
-
I have the beta 1.1, 2.0 and 2.2 patch; I guess I can get rid those and load this one instead.

UPX FTW L337 #IMAHAQUER
Not to fear the false positive warnings… It’s probably due to a function I added which checks for installer updates.
I’ve been testing with standard MS Defender /AV and it hasn’t complained so I wasn’t aware of other AV products picking it up as a threat.
In any event if I didn’t use UPX I still don’t think it would matter as I believe the AVs are picking up the http function…

I can also put out the raw package if you would like to move it to a linux box / VM… just let me know.
-
Can put it online myself if you allow it and give out the password to the 7zip archive inside the main .7z package.

Technically you have all the files on the target system once installed, so if you need the source files just transfer them from a location which you can use the BfB installer…
The installer drops the SU-27 FM dats and cockpits into the BMS root, obviously along with the add on battle for balkans folder.

This is bad. I checked to verify and indeed the SU-27 FM and AFM files are replaced.
FO guys, I truly appreciate your efforts and BFB looks wonderful. But replacing FM files without clear user consent and understanding is seriously wrong. That means those who installed BFB are now MP incompatible with those who didn’t (while flying in Korea) - and they don’t even know about it.
I wanted to uninstall BFB to compare the two versions but I couldn’t find an uninstaller - if there isn’t one it’s even worse. Come on guys, you should know better.IMHO you should post a clarification to everyone and let them know FM files were replaced, and how to restore the original ones (are they backed up somewhere?)

Agreed, Hopefully 4.33 will have checksums for FM’s etc…
