i used a 360 controller for a time, my biggest problem was throttle control
i did make good use of joytokey
Which inputs, do you advice me to set up in the gamepad? except button 1 and 2 which have the fire gun and weapon release functions?
Regards Metalhead -
Ok, Thanks first, I am reading it now, and I will try it as soon as possible.
If it works as expected, I will post the result here, as an example for anyone who could want to use it too.
Best regards
MetalheadHi MetalHead,
Need to know your project… is that completed? please share it…

Hi MetalHead,
Need to know your project… is that completed? please share it…
Regards,
FalconIDHi, thanks for asking… It is not completed, as I had to change the file keystrokes.key. As I am not an expert on that, I gave it away.
Well, we can make something together, what do you have in mind?
Now I have the Thrustmaster T flight hotas X, and I still use the gamepad as a second controller 2 axis + 10 buttons
Now I have too much buttons, and I do not know what function to input on them… LOL

Regards MetalheadDude… I hope you have the answer to make me happy since last week in the middle of my work I try to figure design for key panel using buttons from gamepad.
But sorry too still not finish yet.I am so very happy if you and me finish this project hahaha

It is very simple to use the joytokey, but first, we have to know what “inputs” (functions) we want on the buttons…
-
what about SVMapper?

HI, I am kind of in a similar situation, my joystick was unresponsive so I sent it back for exchange meanwhile I am playing with a XBOX 360 controller, ( Throttle controle ans speed/fuel management horrible with trigger)
But it does the trick specially for practicing avionics, and learning basics. you can export it to PS4 controller.I have also Trackir, 2MFDs and rudder pedals and keyboard/mouse of course.
I set all my input directly in BMS setup
I tell you what I have to give you an Idea
LB= CMS up
LT= Throttle down
RB= Trigger second detente
RT= throttle up
Left joystick= Avionic control axis for MFD’s radar
Left joystick pressed(hold)= Emergency jettison
Right joystick= Pitch/Roll
Right joystick press= Recenter trackir
Back(select)=Landing gear
Start=NWS(I could change but find it useful there)
Y=MRM mode
X=dogfight mode
B=Air brakes
A= Pickle
Hat switch:
Up= TMS up
down= TMS down
Right= TMS right
Left= DMS downUP/Left= Antenna tilt up
Down/Left Antenna tilt down
Up/right= Smoke(could change)
Down/Right= Idle detente cutoff release (could change)for the ICP I use keyboard, and other usefull key like view, and ecm, Uncage/cage, avtr(first detente), alt gear, etc… mouse for anything I can’t do. left hand so i try to keep speed with right hand
I tried to maximize functionality on it is what I came with.
Now I am waiting for my Hotas it takes timmmmmmmmme……@crazyjap, What did you do with joytokey to calibrate throttle, would you explain. I need to train some A-A refueling, impossible atm with the 360 controller.

For those who want to enjoy Falcon on-the-go with a laptop or need to deal with a temporary solution, here’s a working layout for a gamepad + mouse combo.

Yes, the Falcon BMS 432 recognize both controllers, in my computer…

Metalhead, I’ve got one BIG issue with one of your post -
In my opinion THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TOO MANY BUTTONS!!
Now on a more serious note: What style playstation controler are you using? PS1, PS2, PS3? I’m curious how you are interfacing it to your system. Did you gut another device for a usb connector? A gameport connector? Wired into a serial port? I’m very curious …

Is there a trick to getting Setup to recognize the PS3 controller? Setup recognizes the controller, but does not recognize any button pushes.

-BabiteTake a look into the post 23, it is it… I am not sure if PS1,2, or 3… just the picabove… no interface, software, or anything else related… just PnP…
-
So it’s wireless? I’d imagine if it says SONY that it’s for the PS3, or a wireless 2, but the 3 uses a USB like thumbdrive into the PS3, I’m guessing as a reciever. Your pic in post 1 is a PS2 control, the only difference I can easily see between 1 & 2 is that 1 is grey and 2 is black. Yes, it may be cast into the back of it.
Post 23 doesn’t refer to a playstation control, no analog or ps button in the middle - I think that button would make the thumb sticks axis change from analog to digital reporting. So now I’m thinking it is a generic copy for PC use. Is that the case?
-Babite -
Why not just use a generic gamepad (ps style)
BTW the arrows from the joystick will work like a HAD button, so how BMS just take the HAD from the main joys (that who control the X and Y axis), my only solution for this is use the SVmaper
-
The Picture above “answer” Babite’s question. That is it, a generic game-pad like the one above
-
Sorry if this seems simple, I did “skim” the manual and searched multiple place. But how did you shift the ps4 controller?
-
Preparing a post… wait please. Sorry for the delay on this
-
I got a Thrustmaster HOTAS and found that I like using the PSX analog controller better
Unshifted:
Triangle Radar up
O Radar down
X VHF transmit
Square UHF transmit
L1 FOV Toggle (might Autohotkey this so that it alternates between zoom in, out)
L2 Shift/Pinky
L3 Wheel brakes
R1 Second Trigger Detent
R2 CMS Up
R3 Speed Brake Off
Start Throttle Up
Select Throttle DownShifted:
Triangle TMS Up
O TMS Right
X TMS Down
Square Uncage
L1 Padlock
L2 Shift/Pinky
L3 NWS/Missile Step
R1 Pickle
R2 ECM toggle (could be switched with ECM 5)
R3 Speed Brake On
Start Throttle Military
Select Emergency JettisonLeft stick is rudder, right is joystick. Might find a new use for left stick if I ever find affordable rudder pedals.
You also very much need to use Universal Joy Remapper to give the analog sticks a deadzone of 25%, as well as if you want to switch the analog sticks
For whatever reason I can’t get the radar cursor to work diagonally, so set the speed in the BMS config to 150%.
Oh and here’s the keyfile: http://pastebin.com/WM3LNMHE -
Ok, i know i promised, so here it is, my hotas and game-pad setup:
I use some shifted layers on the Tflight hotas only, and I added them using the keyfile editor (exe)
The DMS on the hatswitch of the game-pad is only possible trough the use of Joy to Key
Free track + 3 dots IR on cap
I hope it helps someone.
Sorry the delay on doing this post.
