Multi screen

Or…
You could go for this
Cheers
And when raising it a bit to do something with keyb or mouse or look at a datacard or notes the view will look to the sky…

Works just great……Even on Nvidia
How are you running 4 screens on Nivida? Are those split between multiple cards? I used to run 3 x PCI-E nVidia cards to support six monitors, but there was a perceptible lag on the third screen for my main span, and when I was turning you could clearly see the horizons were out of alignment.
It wasn’t until I switched to an AMD card (which are the only ones that support six monitors natively on a single GPU) that I have not had that rather pronounced affect.

Anything GTX660ti and above will run 4 monitors, three for surround and a 4th, though I had to run it in windowed mode. Will drop the 4th monitor to another box shortly to avoid that

I am running 4 monitors. 3-22" and 1-18.5" with a MSI R7850 Twin Frozer/2GB GDDR5 with Eyefinity with no problems.

Thanks for the complement!
Well, I started off with the mindset that my pit was going to be designed with only functionality in mind. I was not trying to achieve what a lot of those guys do over at Viperpits which is complete accuracy. I am a RL pilot and have to have hands on controls to make it more enjoyable for me. Mouse clicking and keyboard manipulation is something I wanted to get away from.
My first task was to get the visuals down and then work on a surrounding function pit. I toyed around with the idea of multiple TFT screens for screen extraction but ended up with the 18" monitor behind the up front panel. The only other thing that I may consider in the area of visuals is a small LCD for the analog gauges but I don’t use them enough right now to justify the cost. I just wanted to stay simple enough to be cost effective allowing me to have a little realism while flying.
The first thing I built was the ACES seat. It was a prefab seat using MDF. All of my pit is made of MDF.
This is what I started off with:
I switched to the three monitors (BENQ 22")
I then built temporary consoles for my HOTAS and added a 4th monitor. It was an old 15" I had till I figured out what I wanted to use for the Upfront panel.
I started constructing a real size panel out of foam board (which would just appear as real panel) without any of the 3-D depth. Just flat to mimic the look of the panel and started to look for a monitor that would closely fit the panel and allow for the close approximate position of the extracted gauges. I found the 18" I-INC monitor. The foam panel allowed me to adjust the look and size cheaply to get my final measurements to fit the monitor. This is the foam panel. Now with the task of making a UFP, I could not figure out how I was going to create a ICP. Then I thought about a Numeric pad. Worked like a champ as a temp ICP.
Most of the other pit construction was simple woodworking. I met a guy name Propnut and the guy has great manufacturing skills and he built my ICP. From scratch. Here is a picture with Propnut’s prototype ICP and as you can see I went to mounting all my monitors against the wall and you can see my HOTAS on my temp consoles.
Here is the start of my console construction. I used foam board panels to get the measurements right for when I build my Plexiglas panels.
Here is a picture of my MK II ICP from Propnut’s final production. And a look at the right temp console.
From here, I continued to construct and finish my consoles. The panels were constructed from plexiglas and I used desktopaviator.com for my pulse generators and various accessories. I currently have 5 generators installed to operate the switches for full function without the use of the mouse or keyboard. Here is a pulse generator mounted inside one of the consoles.
There is much more but that is kind of the “just” of what I have done to have a functional pit without an enormous cost. I would be glad to go into more detail. Just PM me with any questions. The process to this point took just under a year of on and off work. Disregard the dates on the pictures, they are not correct.

Nice pit:mrgreen:
Where did you get the seat cushion from, looks very comfortable…
Mogas……

Thanks. Pit is still a work in progress. Not shown in the last pictures posted but I made the seat back cushion to match the bottom. You can barely see it in the pictures at the beginning of this thread. A buddy of mine that flew the C-17 was issued the bottom cushion when he was active duty. He no longer used it so he gave it to me. I was going to order the matching seat back which zipped to the bottom cushion but the seat back was nearly $300.00 US. The one I made came to about $40.00 US.

Its a Simple, but its Great project….

Geez. Great answers guys.
I play a lot of iracing and some guys go mad (or am I jealous) with their racing pits. But that Falcon pit is just awesome. -
Back on topic:
Technically Falcon4 BMS does NOT support multiple screens for visuals. It allows one view with very wide format, and the graphics hardware then splits it for several desktops. If you consider MFD extraction as multiple screens, then that part BMS does comply with. And then you can use MFDE for other instruments extraction.
But only one 3D view so far. Doesn’t stop you from making a great pit.

Where did you get the buttons for the ICP, the switches and Knobs for the consoles from?
Awsome Pit BTW

Thanks. The ICP was manufactured by Propnut. Here is the thread on his ICP. https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?15107-DIY-ICP-Module He made them from scratch and he is selling them now as a DIY ICP kit. PM him and he can let you know if he still has any kits left or if he is going to make more.
The switches are various producers. They are not replicas of the real Viper. I just wanted a functional pit that I can fly. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money so this is what I came up with. Most of the switches came from Radio Shack and the Knobs, Rotaries and controller boards came from Desktopaviator.com.
The On-On-On switches I got off ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Alco-Switch-MTG-226PA-Brand-New-ON-ON-ON-1-piece-/131120156584?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e875ecfa8 and http://www.delcity.net/store/search/p_789121.h_789123.t_1.n_y.jsp?search=7300048&x=0&y=0

Hey guys
Just getting back into BMS after a couple of years away from it. Question, from this post I see that multiple screens are supported and thats great. I’m running 3 27" screens as the main dispaly and 1 10" touch screen as the UFCD. 2 10" screens for my DDI. I know about the extractor and will set it up when ready but the one question I have is that my main screen at 5040x1050 looks like sorry to say crap because I can’t zoom out on the pit.
i’m trying to get something like this or at least to get it to zoom out a bit. sorry I don’t hava screen of what I’m seeing with BMS as I’m just setting everyting back up.
Thanks in avance for any help on this.

take a look at my Hot List… there must be a section like TrippleHead2Go there I talk about the settings in cfg file for FOV.

I think what you are trying to accomplish is to widen your FOV. You must go to you BMS Config file and change the FOV setting. I think the default is 50 or 80. I have mine set to 110. There is a thread on this and I will try and look for it. Also, you will probably have change the pitch limit for all your cockpit art files for every model aircraft so you have full pitch range in the 3d view. There is also another thread on this.
