TrackIR 4/5 BMS Profile by Yassy
-
Is this profile for the track clip pro?
Eventhough the standard profile of the TrackIR works quite well in BMS, I did not like the direct control.
It resulted in jittery view and when looking at cockpit panels I found it hard to keep the viewpoint steady. The principle for the profile revolves around having a stable view, with a deadzone around the center forward view, to make flying and fighting with the aircraft as smooth as possible without having to adjust view constantly, resulting in fighting the view AND the aircraft.
I have strived to keep the deadzone as small as to keep the view steady, but prevent a ‘sticky’ feeling when trying to look around.
Furthermore I have limited the movement in the Z-Axis to prevent jittering in the viewpoints.
Instead, use the mousewheel (or zoom axis on your hotas if you have that mapped) to zoom in / out. This profile is actually an edited version of my DCS profile.
While the DCS profile works best when keeping precision mode on all the time, but I have found this not to be the case in BMS. It makes the view a bit too slow, while without precision mode the view is very direct. YMMV.
Get it here! -
I would love to get the profile if you have the time…
Thanks

You can place the file in the Profiles folder inside your TrackIR software installation folder.

I am happy I can offer something for the flightsim community. Its in no relation to proper mods, though, but I am glad you like it!

ok, semi-newby here, so bear with me please. I have heard so much about Yassy’s profile that I would love to try it out, but when I download it and save it into my profile folder, it doesn’t show up in my saitek x-52 pro editor. Yassy’s is a .xml file, and from what I can figure out, all that the saitek editor recognizes are .pr0 files. Is there a way to convert his file type into one that my editor can recognize? Am I missing something? All you pros out there, please help me, I’m really looking forward to try it out. thanks ahead of time, and thanks especially to Yassy….

I think there is a confusion here.
I used to offer an X52 profile for BMS back in the day, but the Saitek software got updated after I ceased to use my X52.
The file extensions changed and as far as I know there wasn’t an easy way to convert from old to new.
So that old profile might still float around though. But it is not updated anymore.THIS thread is about a profile for TrackIR, however. It has an .xml extension indeed and should be placed into your TrackIR\profiles installation directory.
I will be creating a public Dropbox folder to share the profile as it still seems to be popular! Thank you guys!
In the mean time, drop me a PM Mower with your email address and I’ll send you the file.
