New NVIDIA drivers

WOW great guys! Now we can finally run BMS and all other Windoze sims/games with the latest drivers for DX11 available! Thanks nVidia
Is it now time to update to Windows 8.1u1? What Windows are you guys on? Iām still on Windows 8.0. -
Win7 here, must skip 8

Same as haukka81 :-). IĀ“v tried Win 8 and uuuhhhā¦:-) Emotions aside. Its most certainly a great operative system, but I just feel lost and get frustrated and from what IĀ“v heard computers should be of service to man in the most suitable way.

For me Windows 8 Pro x64 is the most stable M$ OS I ever worked with, except for the GPU drivers from nVidia  They can really drive you nuts! The more additional features/apps e.g. ShadowPlay nVidia bakes into the drivers package, the more things really go bad with the drivers and I hate that. But, letās give the 337.88 a shot, agreed?

Hey again! After some trouble with Dcs and 2 inflight crashes of track ir 5 i Falcon (First time ever) I decided to roll back. I actually gained 3-5 fps i dcs by rolling back :-). IĀ“m never gonna touch another driver. 306.97 forever! hahaha!

Well on an unrelated BMS issue I tried installing 337.88 last night and while NVidia seemed to finally fix the triplescreen issues I ran into a problem with BMS. when I started BMS the PC would get a hard crashā¦
I was unable to do anything to get out of it the PC just locked upā¦ I then had to hard reboot and would get an error message the PC recovered from a serious errorā¦
WEll I tracked what was causing the error and it was NVidia 3D Vision when it was enabledā¦ I turned it Off and BMS worked fineā¦ So I went back to the 325.27 driversā¦
Doubt this will get a fix will hope for future NVidia releases to solve thisā¦ perhaps Iāll put in a bug report to NVidia not sure if BMS Devs would wanna research this error with 3D Visionā¦

I stay away from all that, saves me time and headaches!

In the past this was the default for nvidia as the 3d and audio drivers where causing fps loss. Nowadays I donāt know if this applies. I use them both and had good fps. I will try it with the new onesā¦ In my everyday moding windows setup I did it and then it went to windows update for the audio drivers which is worst IMO.

The VERY FIRST THING I do when installing a fresh copy of Windows 8 is KILL the AUTO UPDATE in Windows. Specially for installed lower version GPU drivers (in my case those were the 310.90 WHQL) itās essential that not the standard Windows 8 drivers for nVidia are reinstalled. At first I had terrible audio conflicts with the nVidia audio drivers. I ended up uninstalling them in hardware setup. As posted earlier thereās is a guy that made the DDU display-driver-uninstaller-ddu-v12-9-0-released-06-01-14. A very handy tool to completely uninstall nVidia/AMD drivers. After that you can do a clean install of only (if needed) the display drivers.

What drivers have you been using after 327.23 (not .33) and prior to 337.88 that were stable for all your app and enabled you to use BMS? There have been several WHQL releases since 327.23.

New nvidia drivers work fine on my end with bms, I also chose not to install nv exp. nor the 3d vision drivers. Iām on a single-screen gtx 660.
Cheers, Uwe

Iāve had 3D system for a long time, and it has been no problem with Falcon4 BMS.
It can also work well with F4, but due to HUD placing not usually used (See other threads about this). But it has NOT been a problem when I have the 3D available but not used with Falcon4.Admitted: last night test gave some sort of scintillation on the MFDs when not using 3D (but enabled). I have not had any problems before, will test.

Yes I use 3D in all my sims it is very immersiveā¦ I have tried all the whgl releases since 327.23 and none have worked mostly with the triplescreen setupā¦ These newest drivers worked fine but when I have 3D Enabled in NCP BMS will Lock the PC up and I have to do a hardrebootā¦
BMS worked fine when I turned off Stereoscopic in NCP but then I donāt have 3D

Sampled the 337.88 driver this morning, and BMS looks good, (zero-stuttering) as long as āFocus Shadowsā are turned OFF; guess Iāll have to live without my Falconās shadow on the ground until thereās a fix.
Used the Nvidia Display Driver Uninstaller to rid my drive of the 306.97, and installed only the 337.88 driver and PhysX, selecting the āclean-installā option in the Nvidia installer.i5 4670K OCāed to 4.2GHz

Thanks for your feedback and how-did-I-install notes, always a good read and a great direction for others!

SLI that 650 and you can have your shadows back stutter free. AFR2 cures the focus shadow stutters.

Or you could get a Radeon R9 280x cheap as chips and forget this Nvidia stuff, fitted it today, goodbye Nvidia.;)

So you switched to AMD? Dare Devil!
