Rt and Lt Comms Switch location?
-
Does anyone know what Rt and Lt Comms sw Krause is talking about in his datalink tutorial to enable seeing wingman on the HUD?...the tutorial mentions Cont O or binding rt comms sw left, but that is not how my sim is keyed and I am not sure which Comms sw he is talking about, they are supposed to have a rt and a lt position but all the comms sw’s I see are push button switches and they do not make the cont highlight on the MFD as in the tutorial, is anyone familiar with that switch and know exactly where it is located and if it is under any pre-fix such as ICP, Hotas,…etc?

Comms-Switch Right and Comms-Switch left. To enable dolly you have to hold Comms-switch left for over 1/2 of a second. If you have it on cont then it will continue to update dolly.

under bms.key keyfile I think it’s F6

The comms switch that Krause is referring to is located on the throttle grip . It’s used to “key” UHF/VHF communications when moved forwards/backwards, and as Stubbies said “activate a round of IDM information” depending on length of time the switch is held when moved left/right.

I believe they are also referred to as IFF IN and IFF OUT in some of the documentation.

i believe some of the keyfiles are that way as well.

These are the entries in my .key file. Don’t worry if your label in quotes isn’t the same. Mine is custom. Physically the switches are the inboard and outboard directions on the same 4-way hat as the UHF and VHF push to talk buttons. Be aware that the concept of short push and long push applies to these and they do different actions depending on press duration.
