Korea '80s Theater

Molni, thanks for your efforts! I really enjoyed your WIP release and i’m looking forward to trying this.
Oddly enough, i have a question about the particlesys modification. I’ve been using what i thought was Fenrir’s latest release for a while now… 1.03. However, the file you linked in your first post is different. Did you cut-and-paste / tweak the effects you liked, or am i using an out-dated version?
Thanks again!
I have no idea what Fenrir did. About a year or more earlier he made different version and finally made “allinone” version. I got that but asked a different version with longer a shorter SAM smoke trail because of possible FPS issues.

Only the sim folder is affected by your mod Molny? All the rest are inside the theater folder?
-
Right, you are a bit behind the 8 ball A.S…. the installer gives the error that I described above. Im not talking about opening the zipped file, Im talking about opening the installer. Capiche?
EDIT: well… it looks like its worked. Guess its time to fly it and see if it works.
EDIT II: Anyone else unable to save weather changes? I get the warning to save the TE first… but Im in campaign.
hmm, why would anyone want to help you? capiche??

I never played more than some hour in campaigns but they should be. I used A.S objecitves which ensures the winnable state of Falcon Online theaters. The tri files are also based on work of A.S. Even the very old and garbage campaigns are winnable therefore I guess mine also should be because A.S and me put lots of effort to made winnable them. Actually I put more effort into to make them losable on blue side.
I have no impact nor control on what molnibalage did with it, but i assume he had “something working (winable)” in his mind, even just flying few hours in his own built.

duly noted.
Some people did that (opening zip first)…thus me posting that. If there are other problems with the installer…contact Khronik. Most likely something with your system (have had that too b4, but in this one it worked flawless).

acknowledged. Running on windows, it wont make a difference anyway, as the exe is a single file. Windows extraction can run an exe from inside a zipped folder without first saving it elsewhere anyway.
Cheers for the help.

Downloading……Good to see these efforts come to fruition.

At least in one cases I have seen that red side at least baraly was able to brake the FLOT line and marched towards the primary objectives. I guess blue side can do the same but in Rolling Fire red side launches the first offensive.

I can’t wait the first AARs.
BTW I just dicovered the my 5000th post was the release post. What a coincidance…! :headb: -
Well, Panther 1 reports flight lead still MIA at time of debrief, apparently shot down by an SA-3…. :S
40 minutes of mission planning scrapped due to poor intel, then an F-16C lost due to the flight lead trying to do the wild weasel dance…

Respect for the consequences, and perseverance.I remember how you start this mod in ~2010 in freefalcon

Congratulations on completing your project Molni. I know you had a lot of help but you brought it all together, showed great perseverance. I’m sure we will be impressed with the new theater.

Yeah, since the the goal and the result strongly evolved.
(MolnyFalcon v2 had a '90s version campaigns because in FF ARH code was not buggy. I released the v2 almost 3 years ago.)

A long way from the FF5.3 Database….
Indeed.
And with a few more years of work, BMS will also reach that stage…

Excellent theater Molni!
Got badly surprised by one of those old migs when I saw tracers coming from my 6. So used to the electronic battlefield and our all-seeing RWR!! Thankfully I didn’t get hit and I can still look in the mirror
Great job mate

I am trying to install this mod. The installer creates the “unpack” file and places the “package.src” in it but I then get an error “7zip cannot find the code that works with archives” What am I doing wrong?
Same here, i also get: “An error has occured. Please verify H:\72nd\unpack\package.src”
I tried all the things suggested in this thread, nothing worked. I run Win7/64
EDIT: I wonder if the download is corrupt, can somebody confirm that:
The filesize of the zip is: 599 MB (628.504.195 Bytes) (599 MB (628.506.624 Bytes) on harddisk)
and after extracting: 599 MB (628.504.025 Bytes) (599 MB (628.506.624 Bytes) on harddisk)

YMMV… but I had this problem too. My install method was to open the zipped folder, extract the installer to my desktop, then when I tried to run the installer, it created two folders, one on the desktop (where it was) and one in my falcon install. then, it came back with the error about unpacking.
I then opened 7zip, and navigated to the desktop, and extracted the contents of the installer to another folder on the desktop. It contained a single folder entitled Add-On-Korea-80. Inside that folder, were the Art, Campaign, Extras, korea, objects, and post folders - as well as a .tdf and a .tga file.
I created a new folder in my falcon install, /Data/Add-On-Korea-80, and copied all the files and folders from the installer, to that location. The post folder contains two subfolders, Art and sim. I figured the sim folder contains the stuff meant to replace the contents of your /Data/Sim folder, so I made a copy of my /Data/Sim folder and then deleted it, and then moved the sim folder in the post folder, to the /Data/Sim location.
That left the Art folder from inside the post folder. I wasnt sure where it was supposed to go, or why it was made separate from the regular Art folder, so I just added its contents to the /Data/Add-On-Korea-80/Art folder.
I then edited the theater.lst file at C:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Terrdata\theaterdefinition, to add the following line:
Add-On-Korea-80/Korea80.tdfI then booted it up and had a campaign flight. Got shot down, too.
