"Sead Escort"
-
Did not find anything with search. I’m trying to create a package but do not get " sead escort" option.
Only “sead” or “escort”. what am i missing? -
BMS Manual page 211 (in your \Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Docs\Falcon BMS Manuals folder):
SEAD: Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses. This time you don’t have to destroy specific ADA, but usually
protect a strike package from enemy air defenses. It’s the old SEAD ESCORT tasking. Mission success is
tied to the strike package sustaining no losses. -
Thanks Darkman……guess I need to RTFM more
-
I suppose SEAD is EAD suppression while friendly assets are striking and nothing more to achieve no losses of the striking package and then RTB.DEAD are different missions where you have to achieve significant damage to the SAM site and not only the guidance or searching radars.

4.33’s SEAD is not a direct replacement for SEAD Escort from 4.32. SEAD Escort had as the mission target a friendly flight callsign. DEAD (previously SEAD) is a battalion-centric mission. That hasn’t changed. However SEAD Escort was in 4.32 a flight-centric mission while in 4.33 SEAD is a geo-centric mission. That’s different.
I don’t know if before if the SEAD Escort mission scoring criteria has changed. Before it was possibly no losses to the target flight or target flight’s package. For 4.33’s SEAD might be similar based on package losses or possibly not?
It’s distinct that in 4.32 that SEAD Escort was a flight-centric mission and in 4.33 SEAD is a geo-centric mission. That’s a change and not a simple rename. 4.32’s SEAD and 4.33’s DEAD are both battalion-centric missions so this is probably a straight rename.
