How can I change the HZ rate for a custom resolution..
-
Hey All,
I just bought a new eVGA 980GTX and I use nVidias 3D Vision and I need the hertz rate to be 120hz… What I am trying to do is get to run nVidias DSR And I can set the resolution high enough but It does not have a 120hz refresh rate for 3D Vision to work…
How can I set the HZ to 120hz??

If you use win 7 then right click on display, select “screen resolution”. When the screen comes up, select “advanced settings” then select monitor in the menu and there is or should be screen refresh settings you can select from, click apply then you should be good to go. Note: this works for my AMD cards as I have not had an Nvidia card in years.

OK I am a dumbass. I need to set the HZ rate in BMS not in windows I have done that I should have been more clear

tried setting an NV profile for BMS?
Also how are you connecting your monitor? have you run at 120hz before?
-
Some connectors (if I remember correct: HDMI and DVI-1x) can not run 120Hz with high resolution. Try connecting with DVI-D dual channel.
I just recently had this problem, when refreshing the GPU and connecting the monitors with new connectors.

In BMS you go to setup, then graphics tab at top of menu. From there you can pick your graphic’s card and then size and speed next. You do have a monitor that supports more than 60 Hz right?

OK for the record these are DLP Projectors which are capable of 120hz, as they are NVidia 3D Vision certified… in the options men I am only able to select the resolution I want and the hz are not there…
I need to set the Hz rate in a config file as the Hz rate does not exceede 60hz in those graphics ranges… That is why I am asking how I can Manually edit it to goto 120hz…

Ah a projector, whats listed for 720p? most only do 120hz at 720.
and as above are you using HDMI, DP or DVI-I/D?which model is the projector?

Well I am using Displayport… It is an Acer x1261P and the native resolution is 1024x768… I just would like to know how to manually change the hz rate as it does not list it in the graphics option…

Well I think something is wrong with DSR and the way it sets the resolution in BMS… I am wondering if anybody else can get DSR to work with 3D Vision??

if it’s not there then something is amiss, I see the projector only has a VGA port.
I assume you are using a DP to VGA adapter, can you tell me which one? a lot only support 60hz.I have to admit to not knowing a great deal about projectors, but some searching on my tech forums has revealed people having to use DVI-I to VGA to get 120hz before.

Can’t be set via the dx9display.dsp file? Via hex edit.

Well I have no clue how to do that is there any other way??

I don’t think so. Please search for it here or on pmc tactical forum. I’m sure you will find the right answer.
A few days ago someone was asking how to set custom resolution and someone answered the way. -

OK Well I solved my initial problem with DSR and now F4 is able to work with a higher resolution with DSR and 3D Vision works too… it looks pretty cool… I can not wait until DSR Gets triplescreensupport…
If you have a 5xx series or higher vid card give DSR A shot see what you think…
