Which spare parts to get as future insurance?
-
hi all,
Just got my first Cougar, and liking it very much. I am thinking about ordering some spare parts from TM, as long as they are available. Which parts do you suggest to obtain for sure; given the highest fail ratio with time?
thanks!

parts which will become unavailable.
More seriously, a throttle pot wouldnt hurt to have, IMO.
Planning on modding it? some of the mods mean you wont need spares - case in point, throttle mods to increase the throttle movement axis, mean you dont need throttle pots (or you do, but you can buy one that fits your custom mod). Stick mods to remove the gimbals and pots mean you dont need stick pots.

tx. FCC3 mod is planned (during my holidays in Februari ); so indeed stick pots won’t be necessary.

My FCC modded cougar has withstood HEAVY use for 14 years. Throttle pot began spiking about year 3, so I replaced it with hall sensor mod (no longer available, I think). Recently replaced the micro-stick, but other buttons and switches still functioning.

Throttle pot and micro-stick. I replaced both of them.

those pots will wear within a year or so, and no matter how many times you replace them you will always have to do the same thing. Hall sensors were the best but Cupilot is absent from these forums. I hope someone can call him back.
