Gibfender's X55 Profile

yea, I did swap from usb3 to usb2 plugs on the mobo. It’s possible that had something to do with it, but I’ve seen people online say to swap to usb3 from usb2 as well. But as I said, after seeing how easy it is to mess up the programming of the software, I had multiple software crashes due to continuous key presses from the stick/throttle. plus, if i remember correctly, i never saw ghosting when leaving the software off and using only dx mapping in the bms keyfile. My suspicion is it has as much to do with faulty button mapping/software bugs than anything else. At the very least that issue only compounds the problems of any usb ghosting.

Roger on the swap. If you are still having ghosting issues, have you tried the powered external USB hub. I did not see where you tried that.

No. I haven’t had any ghosting issues since I stopped using the software/figured out how to properly program it.

Ghosting issues with the X-55 is a known issue. I and others have contacted Saitek concerning this. A quick fix that works for many is to get a powered external USB hub.
For those using the X55, and having ghost key press and other related mapping issues, I will support Dracfalcon’s suggestion to use a powered USB hub. Plugging track IR, X55 and headset into a powered USB 3 hub has cured all of my problems. I see this more of an issue with lack of power supplied to the board mounted USB slots than an issue with Saitek software. Standard controller key presses don’t use much power, so I see how DX settings work fine not using profile settings. But adding profile software along with backlighting to USB components can increase power requirements through the USB. After adding an 8 port powered USB 3 I now have solid profile operations, and use all three Mode switches mapped in a way to almost tripples the amount of key commands on switches. (Mode 1 = Nav, Mode 2 = AA, Mode 3 = AG)
I do recommend that Axis, rotaries, and keys that require long presses (comm xmit, pickle, etc) be mapped through the BMS DX settings only and set to “do nothing” in the X55 profile. Profile key commands seem to not handle long press and simutaneous press commands, and I have been uable to set the mouse stick on the throttle for anything useful since it’s not recognized as an axis. I mapped the speedbrakes to the toggle on the throttle near the pinky.

You can program long presses with the HUD software. This video shows you how to do it. After watching this, I was able to program my X55 for BMS using all 2 modes.

im a little confused, i downloaded your profile and put the key file in the config folder. When I loaded up the game and went under setup to select the keyfile and check that the controls were correct, most on the stick were off from the diagram and all buttons on the throttle were completely wrong and all over the place. Did I do something wrong, where exactly does each file go. I really want to play BMS but im currently very frustrated with the controls setup not working correctly. If you can help it would be much appreciated. Thanks
