A Guide to Morphine’s Profile for BMS 4.33 and Beyond

That was the cause. My Falcon BMS.cfg file had an overwritten section at the bottom setting g_nHotasPinkyShiftMagnitude to 64, annotated by a “setup override” comment. Deleted that entry and it now works as expected. Thank you very much!

If you were using Alt Launcher It will be added every time you launch BMS from the launcher. So I recommend Assign PinkyShift via Alt Launcher instead of profile.

You would see another g_nHotasPinkyShiftMagnitude line at the end of cfg file.

There is no such second line - g_nHotasPinkyShiftMagnitude - but in this case, the A.L. 1.0.0.0 does not do tricks with Pinky.

Does anyone have an overview of the different switch actions and what the same buttons do when you shift later?

The functions of all the buttons including the shift states is shown in the layout diagrams located in the 4.33 Dropbox. The function of the shift are noted by by an S. For example DMS up + shift = HSD up. Here is a link to the layout diagrams

You’re a super star!

Gastone,
How do I change the paddle switch back to its original function (AP override)?

In the default profile, the paddle switch is AP override. You may have to hold it for a sec though, as it has two functions, TR center and AP override. If you want to get rid of the center TR part, try commenting out the Paddle lines in the TMC. It should look like this. See if that works.
//Paddle/S4 //MapKey(&Joystick, S4, TEMPO(PULSE+F12, DX4, 500));

Awesome thanks!

Huge thanks man !
I couldn’t have Morphine’s settings to work, nor was I able to find any working profile, I was about to start mapping every button of the joystick and the throttle one by one… :faint2:

Hi Gastone,
Thanks for keeping Morphine’s profile alive :headb:
Excellent job. -
Hello,
I have tried to load in the profile but at the step “select Thrustmaster Combined” I can’t make progress since I do not have the option to select Thrustmaster Combined.
I have tried to just load the profile but either the stick completely unmapped or only the joystick was mapped but not the throttle… -
If i Remember Correctly, It will change to Thrustmaster Combined, if included Target Profile ist running before Starting Sim, right? God it´s been a while…

Under Windows 10 and newest TARGET software it shows as Thrustmaster Virtual Game Controller (root).

Not necessarily true. I get thurstmaster combine when I run the script. You need to make sure both target and the driver / firmware are up to date. If you’re running the latest version of target with the old firmware you will likely get thrustmaster Virtual Game Controller (root). As target will not recognize the joystick, resulting in failed run of target. When you get Virtual Root something has gone wrong.

Has been that way since Windows 1909 update.
I’m only using TARGET on the throttle so that may have something to do with it.
Using the latest TARGET V.3.0.18.328 and stick firmware version 12, (F-18 grip), and throttle version 23.Everything works fine and the scripts run and complete ok.

It works for you because, in the case of the morphine script, The majority of outputs for the throttle are keyboard commands. It’s the exception not the rule. There’s about 17 pages of trouble shooting here, plus a few dozen more PM’s. Most of which is because people can’t get target to properly unify the device. See if this work, unplug your hotas, restart the computer, once windows boots, try plugging the HOTAS into different USB ports, run target and see if you get thrustmaster combine. Sometimes that’s all it takes, because of the way Win 10 handles joysticks and registry entries.

I have tried to just load the profile but either the stick completely unmapped or only the joystick was mapped but not the throttle…Run the profile, then in the start menu, type Joy.cpl what joysticks are listed with the device running?
