How to add more than 255 Features to an Objective:
Edit: I made this vid to emphasize overlapping Objs and how to place the Icons so they show as one. In the reality of Falcon you CAN have up to 4000 features on an objective, last time I looked at the code. Don’t think that has changed in BMS. But what kills us is the Deagg distance for the obj when it comes to FPS. A typical Air Base deaggs @ 90nm and all feature LOD’s on it start to deagg as well (including Taxi Signs I think). On the other hand a typical City\Town obj deaggs @ 20nm, so by moving some features off an air base ala 01_19 Airbase Scny we can gain some FPS. How? Well unless you are on top of it (the obj) then the FPS sucking models won’t be there. Not drawn as a dot,triangle and no longer exist on the LIST. The LIST is most important for FPS in Falcon. I am going to go a bit further with this “Blah,Blah”……and ask if any theater developer recently has taken the time to adjust their LOD offsets…hmmmm!!!
EVERY time we make a change we need to adjust through the various tools.This little adjustment, without a total DB rebuild will buy you some FPS.
