How does the Kneeboard / Legs model work?
-
Hello.
I’ve been reading about how to enable a pilot legs model in the 3D cockpit so I can have the kneeboard (so I can use WDP kneeboard), but I’m a bit confused yet. Wonder if someone could orient me here.
I currently have 3 theaters installed: Korea, Ikaros and Israel. For Israel (not the 80’s one) every aircraft seems to have a pilot model, although it’s not only the legs but the legs+torso model, which can kinda get in the way of some switches around the cockpit.
For Ikaros, although I couldn’t get it working yet, it seems like I just have to edit a file (3dckpit.dat) in the Art/ckptart folder inside the Addon Ikaros subfolder. And this is where it’s getting confusing: can I do the same thing - editing these values - for the Korea theater (Israel does not have a Art/ckptart folder for some reason)?Last time I tried chaging the values for Korea, I got a game crash. Then on the second try with another block, it didn’t crash but no pilot model was visible.
Also, can I edit the Israel one so I can have the legs only without the torso? Couldn’t find much information about all this.I’ve heard about a program called LOD Editor, but I was told it’s not necessary anymore, since all I have to do now is chaning those values (which doesn’t seem to work for me).
So, all I’m trying to do it having the legs only model for all F-16s in all theaters so I can use the WDP kneeboard with it (saving me a lot of paper and pen ink xD). Is it too hard to get this working?
Thanks.

Apparently, it was too hard. I have the same questions.

Yeah, it can be a pain for sure; was hoping in .33 there would’ve been a simple tick box to check in the config tree at game launch. A box for body & legs or just legs. Maybe in .34?

It’s quiet easy with lod editor. The only thing you have to do is to export the lod from Ikaros if you don’t have it already somewhere stored and go to the Korea with the lod editor of course and replace the lod( I think it’s the lod number 4) Don’t forget to add the dds files in order too see the kneeboard.
If you want any help let me know.
