Block 52 RPM gauge.
-
Hi,
This my first forum post so let me introduce myself, I’m Eric,50 years old, from Belgium. New to BMS, I slowly make my way in training and tutorials.
Even if I’m silent, I come to BMS forums everydays, avidly reading and learning every informations.
Also, I wish to thank all the people who share their work for BMS.I would like to ask about the Block 50/52 RPM gauge.
Block 52 uses a PW engine and block 50 uses a GE engine and they should have differents RPM gauge layout. (1-100 % for PW, 1-110 fro GE).
In Block 50, it’s ok, (1-110%) no light and night lighting but in Block 52, I have a (1-110%) gauge in no light and a (0-100%) in night lighting.
I use Buraktunahan textures and in Avionic configuator, PW avionic is selected for 52’s. I understand that DDS 8037 is night lighting and DDS 8004 is no lighting.
In short, in BMS U4, does the block 50 and and block 52 still share the same gauge layout or is there specific textures for the two pits, night and/or day ?
It’s not a complain but I would to know if I have srew up my install.Eric

I think stock textures are ok. I’m not on the PC so I can’t check. I can later today if noone else did.
Avionics configurator changes only data files, not the textures.
Just curious, where exactly from Belgium?

I actually reinstalled internal dev version of 4.33 a couple days ago (which is the same than public content wise) and just did a quick test with a Block 52. Everything ok.
It uses 8002 and 8036 for panels/instruments, 8005 and 8037 for night lighting.
8004 is the one of the night lighting texture for GE engine.
In short, in BMS U4, does the block 50 and and block 52 still share the same gauge layout or is there specific textures for the two pits, night and/or day ?
It’s not a complain but I would to know if I have srew up my install.Answering that question, PW and GE engine have different layout, day and night. So specific textures like explained above and dedicated value in 3dckpit.dat:
// RPM needls angle rpm value rpm_needle 125.50 60 rpm_needle 319.50 96 rpm_needle 339.50 100
GE engine does not need those values as EXE default is correct for them.

Ok, I found the problem.
With all due respect for Buraktunahan work, his texture 8036 has GE RPM gauge. I change it back to my backup original one. (Always backup everythings !!!)
