NTO Polar Vortex V2

I’m flying the Buran Campaign as well….loving it
-
the road network around MOST norway and sweden airbase objectives need some fix - the way obj linked and GU movement cost are buggy. While driving GUs to capture these airbase, i found it is impossible to capture them directly… i have to capture the objectives surrounding the airbases, then the airbases captured and turn red color.
the bug is wierd- i set up a TE and use several red GUs to capture norway/sweden airbases, they do capture all AFBs at time compression 16x. so the road network seems good.
dunno why they refuse to capture AFBs directly in campaign.

Added a link in first post for an update. Minor adjustments to saveX.cam and saveX.tri files, .tdf moviedir was not pointing to the correct folder. The movies don’t play on my system (codec issue?) but the news update is shown. Events in the trigger files are activated correctly (verified).

Test run result, no intervention. Buran campaign.
-
Luke be aware that acceleration above 16x has always been advised against.
Also only 2D mode tests also behaves different than with some human flying (it can/will influence momentum).Cheers Obi1
-
I know, the test was done to validate the events. I am currently playing Lapland Fortress and will see how it goes without acceleration.
Cheers

Confirmed movies are working now, selection screen and triggered.Great work, thanks!Cheers Obi1

Test run result, no intervention. Buran campaign.
run this cam at time compression 16x, blue wins on Day 5 1815. no intervention.

Hi Chiang,
It’s a known issue and being looked at.
It’s not a skin issue but you get a model shown that normally only shows when looking from far distance to this model.Cheers Obi1

The lod that shows SU34 fine in Lodedit, just won’t show up in 3d world no matter what slot I put it in. it skips that lod and moves to next.
If I give it just the one lod slot, it is invisible in 3d world. This is a more abnormal bug, compared to what I expected.
I have some ideas still that I have not tried yet.
will update Luke if I can fix it. -
Quick update on the work in progress: Su34 issue solved, tornado loadouts fixed now the weapons will not disappear.
Standby for update.
Cheers

test middle and bottom campaigns at 16x to day 7.
blue side has advantage and captures most obj, but unable to win… no momentum to capture some missing obj. -
I tested those campaigns, Lapland Fortress was won by BLUE in about 5/6 days with no intervention. I am currently running this campaign and will let you know how it goes, progress is slow due to RL commitments.
Polar Vortex timed out, will look into that.Cheers

that’s great.
btw one of the campiagn may be modified for “operation Trident juncture”.

This Polar Vortex 2.2 has fix for su34 (that one was tricky!) and Luke’s fix for tornado load outs! I have been looking for this one a long time, the bombs finally sit right on the fuselage. Obi1 helped me, but Luke beat me to it.

Luke will put this on post 0 asap

starrats: in the original post there are two additional files linked, they are supposed to fix a bug or two; the question is, will we still need them with the theatre version from the link posted above?
-
Luke sent me the latest updates and i made the installer, i am pretty sure that this 2.2 includes those files on post 0.
But let me ask Luke to see for sure.
I would dl and check dates on files to see , but can not do that right now.

First post updated. I removed one of the links to the updates as this update is included in this release. Not sure about the other one so I left it, I am unable to check at the moment and will do it in a few days. I recommend you apply the update, if it is not needed I will remove the link after I take a look at it.
Cheers
Luke

RGR. Will do.
And thanks a lot for your constant attention and perfectionism, highly appreciated.
(remember that you still owe me a flight with that Indipendence Day stuff you posted some time ago, eh bud :D)
With best regards, -
Dear Nordic Theatre Devs: thank you for all the explanations (they proved very useful indeed), but, most of all, for your hard work at the terrain, models and campaign.
