New 4.35 Installation
-
Hey Folks,
I’m having a problem installing BMS 4.35. I download the Setup zip from the torrent provided, then unzip it onto my drive. I then run the Setup .exe. The installer identifies the following corrupt file,
“Corrupt file: “directx_Jun2010_redist.bsf”.”,
and does not let me go any further. I have downloaded 3 times starting from scratch each time.
Has this occurred to anyone yet?
Many thanks,

Copy the file intor your Falcon BMS 4.35 Setup\data folder

Thanks @Bad Boy,
I figured out my Kaspersky was saying this file is a Trojan (false positive). I allowed it in the restrictions and all working ok.
Cheers!

Snpusher - could you kindly replay what you did to allow Kaspersky to accept this file? I have turned K off and still am getting the error. Thanks.

You need to exclude the known BMS folder(s) (C:\Falcon BMS 4.35) from scanning, BOTH on your end-user antivirus, AND for the users using Windows 10 (Pro & Enterprise versions, not sure about Home edition) exclude folder(s) in Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Settings > Exclusions > Add or remove exclusions.
Raptor sent me this solution which worked for me on windows 10 20H2 Home Edition

If this helps any I did the exclusions in Kapersky and on the PC and was still getting the error. This morning I re-downloaded the install unzipped and it ran like the finely tuned install it always has been. Thanks for the help and thanks for all the work that goes into each of these releases. Christmas is her early.

Hi folks!
For those still having problem with this error “Corrupt file: “directx_Jun2010_redist.bsf”.” I recommend to turn off scanning also of the folder containing *.zip file with BMS installation files. At least this worked for me with Windows 10 Home and Kaspersky anti-virus running.

Ran into the same problem myself with Kaspersky Total Security. Paused Kaspersky, then re-unzipped the files using Winzip. Now the directx_Jun2010_redist.bsf is visible and the install went ahead without any issues.
I didn’t get any warning from Kaspersky that it was quarantining or doing something with the files I was unzipping. Thanks for the solution everyone!

I’m new to BMS. Just got a copy of Falcon 4.0 from Steam and wanted to try this out.
I have the same problem. Just be cautious as the Kaspersky says it’s a trojan with precision at exact. Seems windows defender would block this too.
I guess I’ll try out the 4.34, see if I don’t have this problem.
Not sure how this got flagged by anti-virus, but I guess it’s worth the developers looking into as well; security matters after all.
Or may be I worry about it because I’m too new…

As mentioned by others users its a false positive. You can allow your antivirus program to accept BMS 4.35 installation bwSloth. It´s safe.
