Lukrop's Voice Attack Profile
-
Hey guys!
I just updated my voice attack profile for 4.34. Since it’s using prefix/suffix commands and continuous speech recognition where applicable I thought I’d share it. I highly recommend to add various phrases using windows speech if they are not recognized properly. For me as a non-native speaker it improved things drastically.
Using the “continuous speech” mode and the PTT hotkeys it’s possible to say things like "Osan Ground, Gamble 1, 2 ship F16 ready to taxi". Where the text in italics can basically be anything you want. The command gets activated as soon as it picks up the bold phrase.
Don’t forget to setup the Press/Release UHF/VHF commands with your desired buttons.
I have a TM Warthog stick and a TM Cougar throttle (no TUSBA) and setup the UHF/VHF comms switch buttons to activate the VA listening mode. I use the pinky button on the stick as modifier. When I press both and let go of the pinky VA starts listening but I’m also transmitting on IVC which makes this profile also MP compatible.
Have fun!
edit: Fixed tanker commands and “wingman hold fire” command

very tidy (y)

edit: probably just the way I’m using it, I don’t use PTT and lukrop explained it’s designed for that

I’ve added many phrases using “Add/Remove dictionary words” (wrench in the main window > utilities > add/remove dictionary words) and this gives by far the best results. As soon as you start talking a little faster the speech recognition just can’t keep up. Adding the whole phrases obviously helps a lot. Adding the phrases would benefit any profile anyway, given it uses the same phrases.

Great profile - thanks!

I will try your profile tonight… thanks for the hard work. I’ve been trying to create a new one for 4.34, but my skill is lacking. VA hates the fact that something like rejoin is used by two/three/flight. It gives hate mail about the phrase already being used, even though I’m using separate prefixes… thanks again for profile

Update. The profile works flawlessly. Thank you Lukrop

Great profile - thanks! But after this speach to Tower - Recognized : ‘ready for departure’ (Confidence 93) the sim BMS 4.34 total crash!!! Why?

I really like this profile as it helps me to practice comms but if I say “Texaco 1 Gamble 1, request fuel” it doesn’t recognize the phrase, but if I say “Texaco 1, request fuel” it works. So how can I get the proper callsign call working?
-
If you are wanting to go the callsign route, you may test Easy’s profile. It’s found in this sub-forum.

Yes I am aware of Easy’s VoiceAttack Profile and have used it in the past. This one however is very neat and would love to use it with full “simulated” comms. The Author speaks to the fact that you can use it like as if you were in MP and can use it even in MP but for some reason the Calling the tanker with my callsign results in not recognized.
It seems the Tanker call has both a prefix line and a suffix line and unsure why there are both and could that be the issue.
No worries I’ll figure it out!

I’m such a noob. I read some more on voiceattack prefix and suffix and now I understand

Not sure if it’s my Geordie accent (I even recorded a custom pronunciation for “picture”) but I cannot get VA to recognise “picture”. Saying “request picture” is always detected as ‘request QFE’.

how do you record a custom pronounciation of a word? There are some words that VA mis-recognizes for me

I’ve just solved my issue; you can’t just say “request picture” as that alone is just a suffix, ie it would output ‘1’. I have to say the prefix too, so “sentry 1” which would output ‘q’. Prefix then suffix gives ‘q1’ and thus, ‘request picture’ is recognised. I now have the same issue as Wheelchock in that I can’t say “Texaco1, Falcon1, request fuel” as it won’t recognise it. I guess that this is because I’d have to define “Texaco [1…9] Falcon [1…9]” “Texaco [1…9] Viper [1…9]” and so on for EVERY call sign for it to work. Essentially, I think I’m stuck with “Texaco1, request fuel” unless I sit through every permutation of callsign to/from.
From VA, click the spanner, then Recognition tab, then Utilities > Speech Engine Training. Follow the steps to save a word.
Lukrop, just a heads up. I’m guessing your keyboard is not QWERTY, and so I’d recommend you mention that in the new post. You have Tanker menu defined as Z, not Y, so whilst I can say “Texaco 2, request fuel”, it outputs ‘Z1’, not ‘Y1’.
Also, it seriously struggled to pick up “QFE” despite clearly verbalising it and saving a pronunciation to the dictionary; it would incorrectly detect it as ‘qnh’ 95% of the time. I fixed it by changing the word “QFE” in the profile to “Q F E” and it now works perfectly.

I set up my Warthog joystick and throttle with Thrustmaster Script. Consequently there’s only one joystick (Thrustmaster Combined) identified in VA. On the throttle as far as Thrustmaster Combined is concerned, Button 28 is MicRight and Button 30 is MicLeft. So I set But 28 for UHF start and stop listening and But 30 for VHF start and stop listening. But I’m not sure what the difference makes with UHF buttons and VHF buttons because either button, 28 or 30, will start and stop VA listening. What was the point of having a button for UHF and a button for VHF?

Mainly because when you’re flying in MP, you will be flying with/talking to human pilots and AI.

Here’s corrected profile as the original one is not compatible with U2.
-there were some errors… eg , it was very hard for VAC to see difference between “Tower request landing” and “Tower request landing runway” …
- and there were few errors in ATC section (approach/tower)
-corrected
