4.34 - POV hat function change?
-
FWIW I’m using Dunc’s Cougar DX key file located in in the 4.34 directory under […]\Falcon BMS 4.34\Docs\01 Input Devices\03 HOTAS Setup\TM Cougar (Dunc_DX).
I copied the “BMS - BasicDX TM Cougar.key” file into the Config folder and edited by replacing the DX key binding section with my own from my 4.33 file, leaving the DX definition part above as per the 4.34 file. All my Cougar HOTAS bindings work fine in 4.34 but I’ve noticed a difference in behaviour when it comes to the POV hat (H1) between 4.33 and 4.34.
In my 4.33 setup my unshifted POV Hat1 controls the rotate view functions and the shifted Hat1 controls my trim functions. In 4.33 I can use my POV Hat1 to control my “snap cockpit” views, to cycle through the different snap views (as I find using my TrackIR for ramp starts can be a bit annoying at times).
This works fine in 4.34 as well. However, in 4.33 I can also use my POV Hat1 to control my external views and rotate around my F-16 (for some nice screenshot composition work ) - but in 4.34 my POV Hat1 cannot control/rotate the external views. I can only do so using my mouse. I’ve looked at all the options and binder settings but I can’t seem to find anything that would explain why this behavior is different.
Is there a setting I have overlooked perhaps? Or was the way the POV Hat functions changed in 4.34? One thing I did notice that in the setup -> controls screen in 4.33, my POV hat is actually shown there and the different hat directions light up when I move the POV hat accordingly. However in the 4.34 setup -> controls screen, the POV hat is NOT showing at all (only the S1-S8 buttons, Y/X-Axis and Throttle. Is that an indication of the issue I’m having here?

I dont´know if ti solves your problem but there´s an option in the UI screen(controller => advanced) called “mouse look external view” - try to uncheck that.

Aaah yes, that fixed it! Thanks a bundle
