Back to full X-65F setup

It appears that BMS 4.34 didn’t ‘like’ my hybrid flight control setup (X-55 Rhino joystick, X-65F TQS), as opposed to all the iterations of BMS 4.33, which had no apparent problem. :uham:
Consequently, I’ve hooked up the X-65F joystick. Now I’ll have to get used to using force sensing once again.

What didn’t it like about it?
I mean, I’d recommend force sensing anyway, but it seems odd that it wouldn’t like split controls?

Welcome back…force-sensing rocks.

It kept losing calibration, and on the setup>advanced>flight controls page I couldn’t select the appropriate devices for pitch/roll, rudder, and throttles. They were listed in the drop boxes, but I couldn’t select them, only the device listed on the main controllers page.

Sounds like you’ve copied across your 4.33 setup…?
I say this as this behavior sounds a lot like you have a few read-only files in your user config directory.
And if that’s the cause, be aware 4.33 worked the same way, and similar threads were posted about 4.33 not working…

No, that’s not the case. In fact, I deleted all previous iterations of Falcon BMS (4.32 and 4.33) before installing 4.34 . . . the latter is a clean install.
I’m not going to worry about it. I was getting less and less satisfied with the X-55 joystick as time went on, especially when trying to refuel.

Ill have to experiment with 4.34 setup page then. In 4.33 and prior, you cannot select the pitch/roll device in the advanced setup axis window. You have to set that device in the dropdown box in the setup controllers window. That dropdown box is used to set ONE device only as the primary flight control - its first two axes will be used for pitch and roll control.
After that is set, you can use the advanced setup axis window to assign any other axes you like - but only once the dropdown box is already set to the primary flight control device (the one you use for pitch and roll controls).
