Viper equipped with HTS and TGP
-
did all that have it mapped right, checked all that, tried zero, tms up, reload, different loadout, different jet, different inputs, tried keyboard, soi is correct. tried mfd swap, tried on off cycle.
of note- the tgp appears to be crooked as in, the angles of the screen are not lined up, they are at 45 degree offsets in a2g, which makes me thing it is a bug.
To clarify the picture of the tgp is coming in, in this loadout config with black margins and the tgp picture is oriented within the mfd in a diamond fashion. it is not lined up with the square mfd, it is oriented as a diamond. if i switch to nav, or AA mastermodes this goes away immediately, the tgp picture is oriented correctly in the screen so there are no black margins making a diamond shape and all the functions, slewing, cz, couple to fcr, and the like perform as expected.
I have tried this now with mk82s agm88s and a full load of mavericks, if i have the HTS and the tgp on the jet i cannot slew the tgp in a2g, the fcr will slew it around, but i can’t break it off like i used to. even forcing ir track and then going tms down will just couple it back to the fcr.
as stated, if i switch to AA mode or nav mode, it immediately performs as expected. ALSO REITERATING THAT REMOVING THE HTS immediately fixes the problems experienced.

The TGP being ‘wonky’ is normal, correct, and realistic. It rotates the image to account for the LOS angle resulting in the target being ‘right way up’. Zoom in and you’ll see the black margins start to disappear.
I have not experience your slewing problem at all. Are you sure that the TGP is SOI? Are you using DX or keystrokes in your joystick profile?

no, thats not what I’m saying. I can literally switch between NAV and AG with the TGP in AG mode and watch as the TGP goes from being lined up correctly in the MFD to back in a diamond when in AG MM looking at the same point on the ground while flying straight and level.

and i’m not really concerned with what it looks like, you can’t move the cursor in AG mode. I’m just describing whats going on visually while i experience that. I put all three master modes on the RMFD in the TGP across AG AA and NAV mastermode and just cycle through them and when you hit AG the tgp picture is in a diamond, for me always. If i remove the HTS this stops happening. If I remove the HTS the AG mode for the TGP in AG MM works as expected, with no diamond, and no anomalies.

You’ll be able to get your point across if you video it and share it via YouTube etc.

i cannot screen capture with ease with my current set up, I might be able to post a picture or a series of pictures later, as that diamond behavior I described is actually visible without even taking off.
I thought maybe this was some new functionality of the HTS that was locking up the cursor seeing that it goes away when the HTS is not on the jet. I
ll see maybe I can just film my screen later. -
Confirm, when AGM-88 selected TGP will not slew unless placed in AREA mode first. FCR will slew and TGP will follow as normal. When AGM-88 and MK-82 are both carried normal TGP direct slew (slewing without AREA displayed) is available when MK-82 is selected weapon.
Presence of HTS pod and use of HAD format seems to not be related.

seconded- no HTS with agm88s on wing produced same thing, it is weapon selection. Thank you all for helping, sorry I couldn’t provide video.

is there a HOTAS function for area mode?
