4.34 - TGP "stuck"?

I’ve had this problem quite a few times now in 4.34, I never had this in 4.33 or 4.32. I’m not sure if this is a bug, I may very well be doing something wrong but not understanding what is going on is driving me bonkers.
The situation is like this - I’m flying an AI mission where I am looking for mobile ground targets between 2 steer points. So I’m not attacking a set target. I may be carrying AGM-154s, GBU-12s, CBU-71s or SDBs.
I have my FCR on GMT or GM (they may be stationary) and I may switch to SP mode to ‘unpeg’ the cursors from the STPs. All of a sudden, the TGP no longer looks where I’m pointing on the FCR … or when it does, my fuselage just gets in the way and all I see is a grey texture of my aircraft.
I’ve made sure that I have avoided over speed or over G as I know that can break the TGP. I’ve stayed well below 500 knots and max G’s is no more than 2.5.
I try cycling between AA and AG modes. I made sure my weapon of choice is set to PRE and the TGP has SOI. I try pointing to to the RIGHT of the aircraft seeing that the TGP is on the right chin mount. According to where the little white dot is, it should have clear sight but I still see aircraft texture in the way.
In the end I usually just drop blind or call in a broken plane and RTB ……
Has anyone else seen this? I’ve looked in the manual but nothing seem to point to this problem. If I’m doing obviously wrong, I would really like to know about it?

Maybe it’s a silly question, but have you already tried to leave the FCR ‘as is’, without switching to SP mode, I mean, and thus see if that issue happens the same?
