Profile for TW Stick and TWCS throttle combo?
-
Hello peeps, new here …
Slowly trying to get back into Falcon, after decades of non flying …
Way back I played Falcon 3.0, EF2000, Longbow, (Strike Commander … not a sim perse, but boy I loved that game
etc.
However I think I hit a wall when I tried to get myself into Falcon 4.0, less time, no budget for “required” gear as a student, talking about the '90’s and up.
So I put aside my SIM addiction and replaced it with RPG’s I guess :nosep:Nowadays I have the time, got myself GBS (Guillain-Barré Syndrome) hence I’m at home, and stumbled, literally, upon my old Falcon 4.0 CD and manual and got the vibes again.
Got myself a new Thrustmaster TWCS throttle and a 2nd-hand Warthog stick and Saitek Pedals.
Not to get overwhelmed again I’m looking for a profile for this stick and throttle combo, TARGET, RSMapper or whatever.
Just to get started and not to have to do the tedious task of understanding profiling and not knowing what to bind where …Anyone using this combo and have a profile to share?
Much appreciated!!

Hi,
I also need TARGET profile for this setup TW Stick and TWCS throttle, could anyone share their TARGET profile.
Thanks

The stick pretty much wants to stand on its own. It’s almost exactly an F-16 stick already. I would exclude the stick from TARGET script and make script especially for TWCS throttle. This way all 32 buttons, 8 axes can go into TARGET device.

Thanks for your answer!
That’s exactly what I did, but with the help of a utility, has I find the “original” stick setup wasting some functions.I myself found TARGET a bit confusing at start, so I resorted to using Alternative Launcher and RS Mapper (found in DCS forum, google it).
In essence I “programmed” the stick as “default”, but can now easily assign several Shift functions to unused switches/hats.
For the TWCS I basically used the Warthog as reference, and used the Shifts as replacements for al the Warthog switches, as much as I could.Problem is however I can’t adjust Axis curves with it, so I’m afraid I have to “learn” TARGET afterall … someday, but not until I actually can fly and control the F16 a bit

… but he could program everything on the throttle with Alt launcher (with the lone exception of the throttle POV, in which case, if he’s using VoiceAttack, he could program the POV 8 axis using VA). Voila! No Target script learning necessary at all.

I think there’s a TARGET script floating around that remaps the TWCS throttle POV hat into buttons (likewise same for the rocker on the front). It may be under one of the recent T.16000m profiles on the joysticks forum.

Thanks, will look into it!

With the BMS 4.34U1 update, you don’t need TARGET anymore to use both POV hats! I spent a bit of time today working on getting a profile working, it’s available here if you’d like to do away with TARGET: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?37942-Thrustmaster-T-16000M-TWCS-Keyfile
The .key file has plenty of comments so should be straightforward to modify it to your liking.
