Going DX programming only on x52
-
Ok have narrowed the problem to the falcon 4.34 profile. So here is my question. I am going to ditch the logitech programing software and go straight dx. When I bring up the game controllers hotas properties and push a button a numbered dot lights up to show the button press. Is that the dx number and I add 1 to it for bms?

Try using the Alternate Launcher to program your controllers and I think you will find that none of that matters anymore…

More the other way round your DX buttons are 1-32 per device whereas in the BMS Keyfiles they are 0-31. Example if you press the pickle button on your X52 it will show up as S2 in the UI. But in the key file the callback would be
SimPickle 1 8 -2 0 0x0 -1
the red 1 is the button 2 from the UI -1
by the way in your falcon installation folder under Falcon BMS 4.34\Docs\01 Input Devices\03 HOTAS Setup\Saitek X-52 you’ll find a full DX key file BMS - BasicDX X-52.key. I personally use that file and quite happy with the setup. Only change is that I have setup the ministick Axis as band in order to use them for cursor slew in the Logiteck X52 H.O.T.A.S

Oakdesign … is there any way that I could get a copy of your keyfile?

Oakdesign, When you set up the band is that a dx or sst profile?

I found a way to use X52 HOTAS completely DX. The Pinkie is shifted DX, to give all Buttons a second Function. The 3 way Mode Selector Knob right on Stick i use for Dogfight override. Also i use the Ministick as X and Y Axes for slewing the Radarcursor. Therefor i add 8 Axes to the Windows Registry, to define the Axes for thr Ministick. In STT Software i created a empty Profile, No Mouse function and no Pinkie Modifier, also no Modes. Saved that and close STT. The only thing to get the Ministick and the Pinkie to work in BMS is to let the Windows Gamecontroller Options opened in a Window, before starting BMS. Here are some Screenshots.

Thanks all for the help, but got a Christmas Present that changed things. A new x56 and everything is set up with a basic sst set up like Redmilan talks about and Alt-Launcher.
