Loading DTC in campaign
-
Hello,
Yesterday, we flew a Balkans campaign, and were provided an .ini-file as some had issues finding the SAM-sites we wanted to mark. As most of us were already in 2D, we had to back out and re-enter, but the DTC loaded fine like that.
After first loading, it looked like this:
For my personal SA, I added a few steerpoint lines and adjusted a few PPTs. I saved the DTC a few times after this, just to make sure it was updated properly.
Because I’m usually flying with a hPa-altimeter, and this server was set to Inhg, I decided to restart BMS entirely to change the config-setting, so once again, I triple-saved DTC before backing out. While I was out of BMS, the clock was started, and when I entered the Campaign 2D again, this is what my PPTs and steerpoints looked like:
No matter what I did after this (first tried loading the DTC, then began overwriting the received .ini-file with a new download and loading DTC, manually editing Eagle-Eye.ini with the data from the downloaded .ini-file and loading DTC, going out and back in 2D after all that), I could not get the DTC back to what it was in the first picture. After trying until a few minutes beyond ramp start time, I just hopped in 3D with a broken DTC, hoping to make the best out of it, but lost a significant amount of SA because of it. (Also didn’t help that I was flying in pitch black conditions while everyone else was flying in daylight. But that’s another “bug.”)
TLDR: It looks like in campaigns, the .ini-file will only load correctly when the time is exactly what it was when it was saved. After that, it won’t, for some reason. Easiest solution (front-end at least) to this would be if we could select the .ini-file we want to load.
Cheers,
Eagle-Eye -
