Speed brake repair
-
Repaired my speed brake today. It was stiff to move into closed position. Typically the plastic holder broke. Anyway I salvaged it with a cable tie! Once I had realigned the plastic guide/housing by cutting new “keys” into it, I found that the switch wasn’t being held in place well enough due to the breakage. In a unusual moment of genius, I though a cable tie would add enough strength to it. It worked really well!
The broken piece is on the mat in the background. The green cable tie is wrapped around the bottom part of the plastic housing where it meets the switch.
At the same time I replaced my cursor module as I had a spare I bought years ago from Thrustmaster.
Anyway, the cable tie tip might be useful to someone in the same predicament.
