BMS 4.34 Update 1 - POV Mapping
-
Hi All,
In the change log for 4.34 update 1 it says there are changes to enable POV mapping across devices - see below.
I have done the update but my config file has no entries shown below.
Are these changes that must be manually entered into the config file or should they automatically be in the config file after the update ?
If they must be manually added, where exactly in the config file do they go ?
Could someone who has done 4.34 update 1 please have a look at their config file and see if those options below are in there ?
Thanks
POV MAPPING: — Added possibility to override POVs mapping across different devices. (r19837) * New config vars (defaults shown here): set g_nNumOfPOVs -1 // Override number of POV hats. Should be in 0 - 2 range, -1 is override disabled (default) set g_nPOV1DeviceID -1 // Override POV1 hat device ID, -1 is override disabled (default) set g_nPOV1ID 0 // Override POV1 hat ID. Should be in 0 - 1 range set g_nPOV2DeviceID -1 // Override POV2 hat device ID, -1 is override disabled (default) set g_nPOV2ID 0 // Override POV2 hat ID. Should be in 0 - 1 range * Example for a Warthog setup (sets joystick POV as POV1 and throttle POV as POV2): set g_nNumOfPOVs 2 set g_nPOV1DeviceID 2 set g_nPOV1ID 0 set g_nPOV2DeviceID 3 set g_nPOV2ID 0

You are correct in assuming you will need to add them yourself to Falcon BMS.cfg file.
You will need to set the line g_nPOV*DeviceID according to the order of your devices in DeviceSorting.txt, where * will be 2 for the first controller in your list, 3 for the second controller, etc. as it assumes controller 1 is your keyboard.

Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated.

Bumping this thread.
So if I understand correctly, you can have maximum 2 devices using a POV hat, not more than that ? (I have 4 devices using that, hence me wondering :))
I understand this from set g_nNumOfPOVs between 0 and 2.
Thank you for any information

I have found the answer in another thread :
This is just a wild guess as I haven’t tested the config stuff prior U1 release (will do before 4.35 though):
I think it is the Windows device order, not the one applied in the devicesorting.txt.
However, if this is true we might change that to match the order defined in devicesorting.txt.As of now the limit is 4 POV hats or 4 layers (2 unshifted, 2 shifted).
So no more than 4 hats, which should be perfect for me Fingers crossed
Edit : 4 hats on 2 devices, not 4 hats on 4 devices Oh well…
