Monitor Aspect Ratio allowed in BMS
-
Hi all,
tried to find something on this topic with no success.
I’m thinking to change my current 32 Inches 16:9 monitor with a newest and better one.
My doubt are related to the aspect ratio allowed in BMS.
Are 21:9 and 32:9 supported? Or may I have issues with these aspect ratios?

Curved 32:9 (Samsung C49HG9X) works well here with a GTX1080 and I have nothing to complain.
Get nice peripheric view without the border of monitors, when one uses 3 Monitors side-by-side. -

Is 21/9 (2.33:1) aspect allowed? I have 2x MSI GE FORCE GTX 970 in SLI and other 6 monitors plugged atm for cockpit.

No issue with 32:9, so 21:9 should be good
With 32:9 you get stretched sides, but it’s OK when you use track IR. -

Anyone running BMS in 21/9?
Here two videos that should demonstrate 21/9 aspect in BMS.

With 32:9 you get stretched sides, but it’s OK when you use track IR.Depends on the FOV, I think. I use 110-120 and it gets distorted. If you go for moderate values like 90-100, it looks good. I like it because of the peripheric view immersion thing.

Hi tbuc. Do you have a 21/9 monitor? How do you define such FOV? In Configurator 80 degrees is max.

In E:\Falcon BMS 4.34\User\Config, falcon bms file, under “Misc Settings”, write "set g_fMaximumFOV 120 " or whatever you want.
Make a backup of everything before you touch manually this file.
EIDT: I have a 32:9 as my post above stated right below your first post.

Thank you my friend.
And can you tell me if you have a 21/9 aspect ratio monitor?
I’m going to buy this monitor.

Waiting for someone who runs BMS in 21:9 just to be sure it works.

So, monitor arrived and plugged in.
Now i have to set resolution in BMS, but i can’t see 3440x1440.
Max resolution allowed is 1980x1020.
I have 2x Msi Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 in SLI.
Any advice?
EDIT: forgot to tell you that i have other 6 monitors attached for my pit. Different sizes and resolutions…
Do i have to unplug them?
How can i cover the whole monitor area?

I’m running 21:9 on a 3440x1440 resolution since a few months. Can’t remember having had issues to set it up like that tbh.
Is your Windows resolution (and unrelated but important overall, refresh rate) set correctly? Are you using a DisplayPort or a HDMI?
-
Using HDMI, 50 HZ refresh rate allowed
-
Ok done. Dispaly port offers higher resolutions.
Now it’s ok!Thank you for your support!
