Joystick Gremlin?
-
Anybody out there with CH Throttle, Fighterstick and Rudder pedals do away with the CH Control Manager and convert over to using Joystick Gremlin instead of the CHCM? I’ve just started looking at it but am wondering how I would use the mode switch, for example, or even just use shifted stuff via the pinky switch…if it is even possible with a third party application without being able to write some code of some sort.

If I understand the questions right : Joystick Gremlin enables to use any button as a mode button or as a shift button, without having to resort to any coding whatsoever (notice CHCM actually allows you to use any button you want for those functions too, but it does require coding to do so).
That’s one of the two great things about Joystick Gremlin in my opinion:
- The interface is easy to understand and graphical. Though you can code some things if you wish, I have not found one single reason to use that possibility so far, whereas it was almost mandatory with the CHCM.
- It works with devices from multiple builders. It then enables me to play with a Thrusmaster throttle, a CH stick and Saitek rudder pedals and still use only one software.

Thanks ewildcat. Are you able to share your config files the way CHCM allows? I started trying it out last night but as soon as I went in to do some calibration it was spitting out an error code and I got no further

JG configuration files can be shared just as easily as CHCHM files (it’s only a quite simple .xml file), but sharing mine would unfortunately be of little use to you: it can work only for someone who uses the very same game devices I use.

Yes, figured that…I’m just wondering if maybe loading them up would be useful just to see how things are configured. There’s really very little out there on how to set up JG, unlike the many vids and manuals for CHCM.

Well then, here’s my config file.

You were right…I can’t use it since it doesn’t bind to my sticks
-
Well, describe what you would like to do with JG. Maybe we can help.

Just trying to figure the best way to go about recreating the wheel
Seriously, I want to basically do the same thing that the default CHCM layout does. I need to dump CHCM because it has some compatibility problems with other things I run on my PC and I’d love to build myself a template layout with some functionality duplicated across different simulations.
