Wondering how to configure TUSBA to avoid needing to "wake-up" the Cougar TQS
-
I’m using a Cougar TQS with a TUSBA R2, and I really like it so far. I also really like the Alternative Launcher, which finally made shifted functions understandable and accessible to me.
There’s one other goal I’d love to achieve with this Cougar TQS / TUSBA setup: Not having to push the throttle forward into (or at least close to) AB when I spawn into the sim.
I’ve grown accustomed to pushing the throttle forward a fair ways for a few seconds, and then pulling it back, in order to get it to “wake up” when I first enter the 3D cockpit. I get the impression that the throttle needs to be advanced by a certain percentage of its travel, in order to activate it. That usually means pushing forward into AB for a second or so, before pulling back to something more reasonable for the start of, say, a training mission.
This past summer, there was a post in which a user of a TUSBA mentioned not having to do that. I hope I’m correctly linking to the post here:
I thought I’d throw my question out there again, and see if anyone knows of a trick to enable that “no-wake-up” functionality.
It’s certainly not the end of the world, having to move the throttle forward and back briefly, but I thought I’d see if anyone knows how to avoid it.

Let us know if you figure it out. Needing to wake up the throttle is assumed for BMS, no matter what hardware you use.

If I recall correctly, the need to “wake up” the throttle (it looks for a movement of 50 percent delta) was added to the sim to prevent the jet being rolling forward when first entering 3D in taxi or take-off mode, due to the parking brake being disengaged on entry - if this is the case, there will be nothing you can do with hardware to negate this need.
