For me no. Maybe slightly better but still around 50% fps loss. Edit, but overall I have much better FPS with U1.

It seems some people are also experiencing worse FPS without shadow mapping. Please let me know. I have some ideas.

At that moment of switch, do you see a difference in draw commands number? (It appear in the first FPS row as “Cmd”)
I’m using TR_BMS_21_Osan_Taegu for testing. It starts off with around 14000 sitting in the shelter. On the runway it’s already down to about 7000 and in the air it goes down to about 3000. I couldn’t observe a jump in the draw calls while the wheels lifted of the ground. The number just went gradually down the further I got away from Osan. Which seems perfectly normal to me. Still shadow mapping cuts my FPS in half. Without it I’m sitting at about 80 FPS in the shelter in said TR, with it enabled I’m down in the 30s.
