[4.35] Can we have the "Per-Vertex Lighting" Shader option back? (or customise it)
-
Hey all
Overall, 4.35 seem to have given me a performance boost compared to 4.34, except in one aspect that becomes an issue at some specific times.
In the configuration window there used to be an option under Shaders –> Lighting Effects that allowed you to set either Per-Pixel or Per-Vertex Lighting - while the latter gave a huge performance boost, it meant that the illumination wouldn’t actually work (so the taxi/takeoff lights would not illuminate the runway/ground, the navigation lights would not illuminate the fuselage, and so on…)
In 4.35 though we do not have this option anymore and BMS seems to be forced to “Per-Pixel Lighting”. Surprisingly, it hasn’t taken a huge performance drop like before when there’s only my jet and no other lights around. But when I look towards the bigger area of an airbase (that seems to have light poles which actually illuminate the ground) or if there are many other aircrafts around, my FPS goes down to 20 or lower.
I was wondering then, is there a way for me to set Per-Pixel only to my aircraft - so that my Taxi/Landing lights actually work - but have the rest of the objects/other aircraft not casting light? Otherwise, is there a way for me to add a line or something to the Config file and revert to Per-Vertex lighting?
Thanks!
