      Hi all,
for the ones interested, I designed a custom desktop mount for the Thrustmaster Warthog Stick. It is based on aluminum profiles (3060), hence with a slightly slimmer aspect with respect to commercial products.
The required tooling is minimum and I used mostly COTS, nevertheless, I’ve to say that all in all, the commercial alternatives are really worth their money, and my experience is that the home built kit can be remarkably cheaper only in case one has access to a CNC to cut the stick plate ( I did 6 mm, but I believe 4 mm would do the job).

More info in this post of my blog.

For an even cheaper alternative that requires no assembly at all (or the danger of mangling yourself operating heavy machinery :)) I simply use two small foldable deck / garden tables that stow away easily when not using them. I use a couple of large, thick bird identification volumes to raise the stick / throttle level to where it’s comfortable and this “solution” is surprisingly stable. You can also use some cut-to-fit anti-slip mat (normally used for laying out your car boot / trunk with it) underneath the throttle and stick to improve the stability even further.

            All the best,

            Uwe
