IS YOUR MTU UP TO SCRATCH?
-
Since Christmas has now gone once more 290 shopping days left ladies till the next one.
A lot of new gadgets and gizmos are all creeping onto the web by the million. Broadband or not this does have an overall effect on connections and loss of data packets.
Optimising your MTU (Maximum Transmittable Unit) can improve your overall web experience. No to mention make gaming online less likely to funk out at the wrong time.
Have a look at this site for further information on it and yes it does make a huge difference even if you suffer with download speeds of 20GB / second ( I wish)

Use the information on portforwarding site to access the MTU settings in your router, usually on the LAN page and normally set to 1490, which is great if you live within a mile of the exchange.
This is advice, its your choice to take it or leave it.

Could we also get a tutorial on how to load our device drivers with himem.sys?

Didn’t you love the early '90s?…

This comes up even today. It wasn’t but last year I dialed a 1500 MTU back to 1475 or something to make some software function reliably.
