Radio and Comms question
I’m having some issues understanding how the radio/comms works in bms. The manual does not make it easy to understand so I’m hoping to find some clarity on this forum.
In simple terms, I would like to understand the difference between radio features on the Left console and the Radio features on the Center Console. When is each one used?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

@persius It takes a few times reading through the ramp-start tutorial (TR#1 in BMS-Training.pdf)
But short answer is this:
Key points:
UFC => “up-front controls” (the DED and ICP input panel)
Backup => the lower left console… which has UHF only (no VHF)The “backup” UHF radio will work as soon as you switch on battery power. For the UFC controls, you will need to wait until you start the engine and boot up the avionics.

@persius Your radio controls are on the left console, and once powered on and set, you can also edit/change the active channel(s) through the ICP and DED (data entry display) digitally. Typically, you interact with the left console during RAMP start, and from then on, manipulate the radio through the ICP/DED. If you lose power to the DED through damage, etc., you can continue to use the left console to regain comms control (if it has not been knocked out, too)
Check out these manuals in the Docs folder under the BMS program:

Hi guys.
First, I’m sorry for the late reply. I didn’t get any notifications from this site that anybody replied to my post. Thanks for your suggestions. I’m going to review the manual again about COMMS but your tips now show me what to look for.
