Hello dear friends,
Today I have a question for you !
In Lavi front panel, there is one gauge just under the right MFD, the one with a red arc :
Do you have an idea about what is it ?
Regards,
Radium
-
@Radium you mean the right MFD?
-
@Obi1 yes right !
-
@Radium seems like it might have an “M” on it? Perhaps a backup Mach meter?
-
Hi @Radium. It’s a nice work.
Maybe there is a post explaining how to install the LAVI-model that I have missed . I downloaded your RAR-file and I used a similar procedure like the one for JanHas using 3DDBuilder (extract the database, copy the files, rebuild the database and rewrite the KoreaObj files to their right location). I am confused how to handle the folders in the “Parents” directory: normally a parent-folder has a number not a text string. Anyway, the LAVI-model never shows up in the list of jets that means that I did something wrong. So, do you have a summary how to install your model? Thanks. -
when you finish 3DDBuilder procedure,next step add aircraft to DB.

@SOBO-87 I think i see a L and a R for left and right, so maybe something symmetrical?
-
@SOBO-87 I can’t see a M but… Mach 0.5, 0,6, 0.7…. ? To Mach 1.5 ? Possible…
-
@Obi1 yeah… maybe some torque ? I agree there I a left and right, but with one needle… strange…
-
@Magnum1964 hi ! Yes, because it’s up to you to replace any aircraft you want too ! By my side it’s F-16 RNLAF which is useless for my personal use of BMS if you are an advanced user, you can create your own entry… You can also wait the next release of ITO, it’s the cleanest way to get it !
-
@kouzi F-35 mod ?
-
yes,I use this tutorial to add new plane to my BMS

From all the images i have, the gauge in the lavi cockpit is only in the TD varient and i believe was used for technology demo’s as intended, the image you have was also described in aviation week like so:
“Primary flight display in the Lavi TD cockpit is the Hughes holographic head-up display. Below the HUD is the up-front controller. The color multifunction display to the right contains tactical information. The navigation information is in green while tactical information is in other colors. although the TD is not yet equipped with a radar, a radar display is shown in the mockup’s center monochromatic head-down display. While barley visible in the left multifunction display, aircraft weapons loading is presented. Engine instrumentation for the Pratt & Whitney 1120 and fuel quantity are below the left display. The lavi TD has a center stick providing input to the digital, quadruple, multimode full authority fly-by-wire flight control system.”
i have some more cockpit images but im guessing you have most of the same images as i do already

@dumba yeah I see Land R now that you mention it. Since it’s a test aircraft could it be a Beta gauge? A gauge to accurately measure aircraft yaw or sideslip to help define the directional stability characteristics of the aircraft in various configurations.
Wouldn’t appear in the fully developed aircraft, hence why it’s missing from the above cockpit pics.

Hello Toot,
Thank you very much for your kind of information ! very nice of you !
I will keep it preciously !
I have some ideas about what I will do for MFDs, I will share it soon, especially a little surprise !
I will then consider that it was a testing device. Maybe for aircraft symetry or yaw control ?
On another topic, I just completed my researches about payload of Lavi. Here is what we will propose :
Any comments will be appreciated !

- I have some doubt about AIM-9P and 9M, I’m pretty sure 9L. In the late 80s, I think it’s all, no 9X, and previous version used by IDF/AF (G, H or J) were deprecated.
- I would have added Python 5 (same location as Python 4) in 2000+ context
- I also have doubt on AGM-88 witout HTS pod
-
@Radium interesting gun position, reminds me of the jf-17/mirage 3’s guns

Hello Topolo,
-
About AIM-9P, I just double checked, and youi are right, I can’t find a picture of an AIM-9P mounted on an IDF Lavi. I guess we could keep AIM-9L and M ?
-
For Python 5, on, I’m with you there !
-
IDF is very silent about it, but they operate AGM-88 (named as Kel’aa in Israel), on their F-16. As long as HTS is not exportable, they use it, as far as I know it, as any other export country :
What do you think ?
Cheers,
Radium
