@oldtommyboy Audio is very fragile, in BMS. Do you play any other games on this same PC?
Just wondering, how BMS compares to other games using DirectSound, on your setup.
I’m told installing an audio-device-virtualization layer like https://vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/ can help. But it’s a huge pain and very complex to setup.

@airtex2019 ha, no clue, maybe something porked.
never happened on speakers, now with headphones and mic and trying to get that straight with foxvox,of which is pretty good now, this happens. i updated drivers for both and deleted some others.
try again tomorrow.
i do have a couple other games installed but havent played in a long while.
i was using a old sound blaster but now just standard high def drivers.
always something,sheez,lol
thx
my understanding was bms cant do 5:1cards and my hearing not good, especially my right ear so !!!

Perhaps some program(s) are taking exclusive control over the audio device(s) and causing them to appear unavailable to BMS and is causing a dropout? Shot in the dark, but it has been the culprit before in similar situations - worth trying and won’t hurt anything (even if you don’t revert this after testing).
Open the Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound panel for Playback and Recording devices (the one pictured, not the big black Win10/11 settings screen for sound devices), and for those you are using in BMS, select them and click Properties, and then the Advanced tab as shown - uncheck the box next to Exclusive Mode to disable it. Do this for each device you use in BMS. Restart your programs and see if you keep having issues of lost sound.
