HELP - ONLINE PAUSEES WITHOUT BLUE MESSAGE
-
So In 1 instance I was host and another instance I was the client.
Speed test was 540 down and 150 up in both situations when I exited.
BMS was set at 66000 down and up.
I was only one having pauses n each flight.
Second instance where I was the client showed no issues with hosts internet connection.

@brddog006 That’s only part of the answer…
The host and client might have network issues or a long distance… Which will not help (especially if on top, one is using wifi)
So both need to be on wired network and not too far appart (Australia and Europe for example)

Both host and client instances were on wired networks and in the continental US. Have flown with same group of guys as both client and host without any issue before.
Please let me know if you need anymore info as I know you are very busy.

in a hutshell…
The blue message is caused by 2 things:
- Network issues (bandwidth, latency, stability, …)
- Host / CLient being not powerfull enough to handle the campaign
There is not much we can do above that point since I have 1000thd of hours hosting servers with BMS and it happened only a few times…
-
I never got a blue message just pauses.
-
Very hard to investigate anyway so let’s see if others walk in with the same issue…

@MaxWaldorf that spiffy new single-stage installer should make it much easier to setup a cloud host, for a just day … ie. for cheap high-bandwidth multiplayer experience
just pick a datacenter location roughly equidistant to all the participating pilots

Flying online the other day aand had 5 other connected to me.
Got to the tanker and all of the sudden started getting pauses without the blue message. No CTD, just pauses.
Had FPS counter up and it never dropped below 48 fps
Thought it was an isolated incident.
Connected to another flight today and got the same issue as the client and not the host.
I then reset my router(computer is hardwired to router) and connected to the VG server and no pauses. Now no one else was online but it looks like the router reset was the issue. I just need some guidance here as I am scheduled to host another big flight this Friday and want to make sure all is sound now.
Does this sound like an issue?
Check what time you have to save the TE or the campaign. We have set it to be every 1 hour to save the progress of it and when it is saved have as a kind of micro pause, it does not show the blue sign of death as we call it, but it does a long pause of 500ms or up to 2 seconds depends on how many pilots we are flying.
Greetings.

@VIPER-0 ↑ To expand upon VIPER’s reply above … I swear I have experienced issues once with the campaign we host freezing up following a campaign restart to Day 1, where the only culprit I could assume without further info was maybe that the save file folder with all the auto-save files from the previous campaign run were still present and not wiped as per our SOP. After deleting these old save files, server ran just fine.
FTR - No idea if it was a false-positive and it was a year or few ago, but can’t hurt anything to try… erase any auto-save files from your campaign (except the most recent) … maybe you’ll have similar success?

Thanks for your help guys. Looks like it has been fixed on my end.
