Quest 2 and audio
-
I’ve never used VR.
Being budget limited, I’m thinking of acquiring a Quest 2 ( only for BMS). I’m also a huge fan of Semler PDX’s voice recognition software. My questions:
1.Can one use headphones and mic easily with Quest 2,-just put the headset over the Quest?
2. For occasional keyboard use can one see enough to find the keys for Visor or Pause, for example? -
- Yes, it’s built in speakers and mic are ok, not as good as the Rift S. But at least for awhile the mic on the Quest2 to PC link was disabled and may still be. Have to check that.
- This is my preferred way (just removed the speakers from my Reverb G2 to do this). The Quest 2 factory headband makes this very easy. I like the noise isolation of over the ear cups and the boom mic for SelmerPDX’s profile
- That gets a little difficult, either look through the narrow nose gap or tilt up. That’s why I do this mod to my VR headsets when I’m using them for simulations.

@Snake122 Many thanks for your thoughts. What was the Amazon -sourced aftermarket piece you used for the Quest 2 mod called? Was it the “SUPERUS Facial Interface & Face Cover Pad for Oculus Quest 2”?

@danster that one would work, as would a lot of others. There are a lot of options for the Quest 2.
