Keymapping issue (alternative launcher) with fresh install?
-
First a very big thank you to The Devs for the new version. Installation, updates, UI, ECM, …
I cannot pin that one down exactly, but could reproduce it twice by doing a fresh install:
After the installation I do the keymapping in the alternative launcher. How it seems, the sim doesn’t recognise it correctly when first launched (changes not available). In my first try I saw the profile “BMS Full” (alternate launcher), didn’t change that and made some key mapping. In sim, they didn’t work. When I went into setup there, it was suddenly “BMS Auto”. Loading Full didn’t help. In alternative launcher, it was suddenly BMS Auto, too. Set both (AL and Sim) to auto - worked.
Second install: I saw Full in AL, went into Sim, Setup: Full was set. In flight, it didn’t work. Then I exited, AL still Full. In Sim, also still profile Full. Now it suddenly worked (starting the sim for the 2nd time).
Is here a small problem with the profiles after a fresh installation? This could be annoying for new users and disturb a bit the awesome work done with 4.37 to make first contact easier.

Try to delete the BMS - Auto.key file.
Get in the axis mapping again and relaunch BMS…

Oh, I don’t have a problem to get it working after fiddling with setup and restarting. But it was always a fresh install with no files left in the BMS-folder. The second installation was just for reproducing it (although the results were slightly different).
Or are there additional files in C:\Users or Programs I forgot when wiping 4.36 from the drives?
Axis mapping worked from the start, just not keymapping (the first time after installation).
